I'm woken up from my peaceful sleep when I hear a noise. I sit up and look around for the source of the sound. When nothing happens, I lay back down and attempt to go back to sleep. Maybe I was just hearing things, I am half asleep anyway.

Just as I'm getting comfortable again, I hear something hit my window and recognize it as the sound that woke me up. I get up and walk towards my window and I can't help but be a little afraid of who, or what, could be waiting for me on the other side. I'm probably being a little dramatic but I blame it on the scary movie Michael made me watch the other night. I wanted to prove to him I could get through it after being called a 'scaredy cat' but I totally regret it. It's been a few days but I'm still a little jumpy.

When I make it to the window, I slowly pull the curtain aside, hiding beside it so whatever is out there can't see me. Another rock hits the window, causing my hand to shoot back. I slowly come out of my hiding spot to look out the window and my fear disappears when I see it's only Luke. After what had happened, he's the last person I would expect to be here.

Luke gives me a sheepish smile and I point, signaling him to meet me at the front door. As much as I'm mad that he would wake me up in the middle of the night, it's a little odd that Luke would be the one disturbing me, so I'm curious to find out what he wants.

I open the door and Luke stands on the front porch right where I told him to meet me. He's dressed in a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. His hair is a little messy, probably from laying in bed just a few minutes before. What would make him get out of bed to come all the way over here?

"What are you doing here?" I whisper. If my mom saw what was happening she'd flip. She'd probably think I was sneaking Luke in or that I was sneaking out with him, even though I'm still in my pajamas. She would find something to yell at me about, that's for sure.

"I can't stop thinking about how mean I was to you the other day." He frowns and looks at his feet.

"So you're coming to apologize to me at-" I pull my phone out of my sweatshirt pocket and look at the time. "2 in the morning?" I groan.

"I wouldn't be hurt if you didn't take my apology but I'm sorry, I really am." He runs his fingers through his hair and sighs.

"This couldn't have waited until tomorrow?" I question, annoyed that this had to happen now when I could be asleep still. My grumpy mood is making it hard for me to be considerate about this.

"That probably would've been better." He sheepishly smiles. "I just feel so guilty. I was going to come after you and apologize right after I said what I said, but I knew you wouldn't have it. I wanted to give you time to cool down."

"You really think I'm going to take your apology now?" I ask in disbelief. I'm still mad at him for how he treated me, and I'm afraid that if I did forgive him, he would end up doing the same thing all over again.

"No, but I was hoping you would at least give me another chance..." I see the glint of hope in his eyes and I take his words into consideration. The way Luke and I go back and forth drives me absolutely crazy but I can't help but have the urge to forgive him, even if he's going to treat me horribly again.

I sigh, "I don't know, Luke."

"Please?" He puckers his bottom lip out, giving be the puppy dog eyes, something I would never expect to see out of Luke.

"No! Don't do that. You're going to make me feel obligated to forgive you." I whine as I cover my eyes. It's still so weird to me that Luke can be a completely different person sometimes. I kind of wish this Luke would stay, but I know it mostly likely won't.

"I actually wasn't expecting that to work." He laughs a little. "I was expecting you to slam the door in my face."

"If I give you another chance, are you really going to stick to your word this time?" I remove my hands from my face, still surprised that I'm going to be giving Luke another chance when I said I would never do that again.
