Defying Science (Luhan)

There once was a girl who was obnoxious. Her attitude seemed to scare people away. Her words were abrasive, harsh, and blunt. She wasn't shy. Oh no, she was anything but shy. You can hear her from a room away with her boisterous laugh. But her smile was out of this world. A soft pink would always dust her cheeks as her eyes crinkle into crescents at an amusing joke. A light would be jealous at how bright she looks.

Her name, was Mei.

But there once was a boy who was perfect. His personality was calm and his attitude polite. He always gave out smiles and greeted everyone hello. His voice was like sweet honey being poured over hot tea. The words he would choose were careful and light but enough to have a tone of friendliness in them. He was the model of Flower Boy.

His name, was Luhan.

These two were complete opposites. They didn't attract like magnets however. In fact, they repelled each other. Although they were in the same class, you can never find them in the same room. It's as if the universe didn't want them close.

No, they didn't hate each other. It was just that they never got a chance to actually meet one another. They were always busy with other things when they got close to meeting.

Mei was always with her friends making plans to explore the city, while Luhan was busy with his own friends making student council plans.

But there came the day that these two would crash and burn there way into each other's hearts. A meeting that would change the fate of their lives and the social dynamic of their school.

You see, the school they attended was not necessarily divided but people hung out with groups and very rarely did they mix with other groups. There were the popular ones, but they consisted with Mei and her friends. Luhan was always with the highest social ranking group in the group called Exo. They held positions in all of the school's clubs so they made a group the reflected it so.

But they didn't meet that way. They met at an event that the school was hosting, planned by Exo. It was a fundraiser for the school's Soccer club which Luhan was a captain of. There were games and activities as well as music playing to keep the crowd excited.

Mei was stuck at the face painting booth which had a long line to begin with. But her persistence of a cutely drawn octopus kept her in line. Mei was very determined to get that octopus drawn on her cheek. And her carefree nature kept her from being bored.

Luhan was walking around patrolling the school yard making sure everyone in a booth was fine and didn't need any last minute supplies. The event was quite large and many booths were stationed around it.

So it took Luhan quite some time to finish walking from one booth to another. How did he not see Mei you ask? When he reached the face painting booth, someone called out his name making him turn his head away from Mei's line of vision. Mei looked straight ahead to take a step forward as the line was moving, but stopped as she accidentally stepped on her show laces. She looked down and saw her shoe laces untied in which she proceed to bend down and tie back. Luhan with the urgency of having his name being called, quickly looked around the booth and hurried along to his friend who called his name. By the time Mei finished tying her shoes, Luhan had just walked away.

An hour has passed and Mei was finally getting her octopus drawn. The artist, whose name was Kris nodded and quietly started outlining the beginning of the octopus' tentacles. Mei was in a hurry as her friends set a deadline for everyone to meet to watch a band play. But again, her determination got the best of her and she let Kris finish the drawing.

Luhan was stuck in another booth trying to fix a broken tent. It did not take long, but by the time the tent was up he only had a minute remaining to meet up with Exo to also watch the band.

Mei and Luhan were both rushing to meet up with their friends in a very crowded space where the band was set up. But these two were both loyal to their friends and refused to be late. While both of them shove their way into the densely packed crowd they bumped into each other knocking their foreheads together in the process.

"What the hell!" She screamed loudly.

"Are you okay?" He answered calmly.

5 years later

There was an insisted buzzing near Mei's ears and she groaned irritatedly. Today was her only day off and the warmth around her kept her in wanting to stay in bed forever.

But the buzzing continued and her patience was thin. She puffed her cheeks and opened her eyes to the best of her abilities and tried to sit up. Her efforts proved to be useless when she could not even move an inch.

Again, she groaned and whined and tried slapping the strong pair of arms on her waist. When the arm only tightened, she turned to face the culprit and tackled him with her whole body clinging onto his figure.

"Hmm." He also whined.

When she did not stop and started to attack him with kisses all over his face his eyes snapped opened.

"Yah!" He yelled.

"Let go, you Koala! I need to make breakfast." Mei said calmly.

"Forget breakfast. You make them burned anyways, you babo." Luhan said bluntly burying himself further into Mei's stomach.

Mei pouts and turns quiet only staring at the fluff called Luhan's hair. Luhan begins to attack her stomach with tickles and she finally cracks smiling shyly and laughing softly.

He stops and pants slightly at the energy surge and cuddles back into blankets with Mei in his arms not forgetting to turn off the buzzing.

The married couple stayed in bed for another hour or so until Luhan started complaining loudly for food and Mei smiles quietly making her way into the kitchen making eggs. Her left hand was catching the light as the stone on her ring finger reflected it.

While these two never attracted each other quite like magnets, they turned themselves opposites of each themselves to meet and finally attract.
