Chapter 19: Getting Ready for Bed

Grayson's POV:

I ran a warm bath just like Natalie liked and I walked into her room to see her playing with her dolls.

"It's time for your bath sweetie." I said with a smile as I leaned against the door frame of her pink room. She replied with a sigh as she put her dolls up and began to walk out of her room.

"We can't forget your pjs." I said chuckling. She laughed and followed me to her dresser. I opened up one of the middle drawers and I let her pick just like always. Of course I helped her match but other than that she got to pick.

She handed me the pjs she wanted with a smile and I stood straight up and followed her to the bathroom.

I helped her out of her clothes and she stepped into the warm water and sat down and instantly began to grab her bathtub toys I got her one day.

"Tilt your head back." I tell her as I fill up a cup of water. She tilts her head back and I slowly dump the water on her dark hair that mimics the color of mine. I smile at her as she goes straight back to her toys as I reach for the bright colored shampoo bottle.

I pour a little shampoo into my palm and I begin to massage it into her scalp. I'll admit this part always used to intimidate me because I didn't want to pull her long hair but I've gotten pretty good at it.

As I'm massaging in the shampoo she hums and laughs "it smells like strawberries." Which causes me to giggle as I fill the cup up with water again. "Yeah your favorite. Now lean your head back and close your eyes." I tell her as I dump the water on her hair and rinse all of the shampoo out.

Her eyes we closed super tight as I got all of it out. I told her I was done and she could open her eyes and she let out a sigh and rubbed her eyes. "Look bubbles!" She says with a laugh as she points at the bubbles formed by the shampoo that came out of her hair. I laugh at her as I grab her loofa and body wash with Elsa from frozen on it.

I hand her her loofa since she likes to do this part herself. She holds the loofa up as I pump some body wash on it and she runs it on her arms first and works her way down.

"It tickles." She says smiling big at me. I return the smile as I begin to put all the bottles back where they're supposed to. "All done." She says as she plops back down into the tub. I grab her pink loofa and hang it up. I help her rinse and then I grab her towel and sit it on the toilet.

I let her play a little longer and then I tell her it's time to get out and put on her pjs. I unplug the tub and lift her out and sit her on the mat. I dry her off and she insist that she puts her pjs on herself. I smile at her and hand them to her and told her I'd wait outside but the door had to stay open.

Soon she walks out in her pjs and grabs my hand and leads me to her room. She crawls into her bed and wraps herself in the blanket.

"Will you tuck me in?" She ask with a yawn.

"Of course." I say with a smile as I tuck her in. "Do you want a story?" I ask her when I'm finished tucking her in.

"Yeah." She says with a big smile.

I smile at her as I try to conjure up a story. "Ok so there was this prince and he liked this princess very much but they couldn't be together because it was against the law. So they thought of secret ways to see each other without getting caught but one time they do. "

I finished the story with a happy ending of course and I notice Natalie is asleep. I miss her forehead and I walk out and shut the light off.

I quietly walk down the stairs and pick up my phone from the island and shoot (y/n) a text to let her know that Natalie is asleep.

Grayson- she's sound asleep ;)

Y/N: I'll be over in a few :)

I smiled at my phone and began to rush to pick up my daughters toys so (y/n) didn't think I was a complete slob. This had to work out.
