Your POV:
All last night I thought of Grayson like usual but this time the thought didn't paint a smile on my face but it left me with a frown and a few tears.
My eyes were rather puffy as I rubbed them as I sat up in bed. I swung my feet off the side of my bed and tied my hair up in a messy bun not even caring what it looked like.
I walked down to my kitchen and started preparing myself some coffee. I decided I wasn't gonna sleep all day no matter how much I absolutely wanted to. I was gonna figure something out to take my mind off of things.
The coffee maker stopped spewing out my coffee so I poured myself some in one of my classic white mug and began to add my usual cream and sugar.
I grabbed my mug off he counter and sat it on the island in front of my seat. I sighed as my spoon continued to clink against the sides of my mug. I looked at the clock on my kitchen wall which read 10:20. How am I gonna do this all day? I'm just waking up and I'm already miserable.
I finished off my coffee and rinsed out my mug and gently sat it down in my sink. I grabbed my phone from its usual spot that I leave it in during the night to charge and took it into the living room with me.
I checked to see if I had any text or calls and was greeted by and empty screen. I sighed because I some what hoped to see a text from Grayson but of course he wouldn't text me after yesterday.
I sat my phone on the coffee table and grabbed he remote for my tv. I kicked my feet up onto the table and realized that there was some decent movies on tv today. Right now they had a twilight marathon playing. I settled on that considering I didn't mind the movies at all.
I was half way through the first movie when my stomach started to growl. I made my way into the kitchen not sure what to eat at this time of day. I didn't really feel like cooking. I wanted something quick and easy.
I shuffled through my cabinets and found some popcorn. I mean I am watching movies so why not.
I sat back down on my couch with my popcorn and proceeded to watch twilight.
I finished my popcorn right as the first one ended. I wiped my hands on my clothes not caring about what got on them considering I never go out in public with these clothes on.
I sat through the few commercials between Twilight and New Moon and then proceeded with my movie marathon.
New moon was almost over when my phone buzzed. My eyebrows furrowed as I sat up and grabbed my phone. On my screen a name popped up that I haven't seen in forever.
Amy- Hey:) I know it's been a while but I'm gonna be in town and I wanted to see if you wanted to catch up tonight?
For the first time today a smile landed on my face. Amy was a friend from college. We both studied in education and as soon as we met we hit it off. We drifted apart because she moved all the way to California. I always envied her for that. It must be nice there. I was stuck here in New Jersey.
You- omg! I'd love to! :)
I was so excited. I didn't even care what we did as long as I got to see her. No one has ever been able to understand me the way Amy does. Well except for Grayson. Hopefully she helps me take my mind off him.
Amy- ok I'll be at your apartment at 4 :)
You- can't wait!
I really couldn't wait. It was almost 2 now so that meant I had plenty of time. I finished Mew moon and even started the next movie until I decided I should probably straighten up my apartment and look a little more presentable.
I was fixing my hair in my bathroom mirror when I heard a knock. I dropped everything and immediately began to smile. I ran down my stairs and to my door to be greeted by Amy.
I squealed as I hugged her and she did the same with a huge smile on her face.I invited her in and I led her into the kitchen. "So do you want anything to drink?" I asked with a smile.
"Water will be fine." She chuckled. I handed her her water and I leaned over the Island and I gave her a cheesy smile as I asked what she's been up to.
She laughed, "well my jobs great and my new boyfriend is even better." She said smirking into her glass of water. My eyes went wide at what she said.
"A new boyfriend?!" I asked. "What's he like." I smirked.
"He's nice and he really supports me unlike josh in college. Remember him?" She asked sitting her glass down.
Of course I remembered Josh. Josh was her boyfriend back in college and I remember he always fought with her and always yelled at her for the stupidest of things.
"Of course I remember him." I said rolling my eyes. "I'm so glad you found someone else. He was a mess." I said with a comforting smile.
She chuckled, "trust me I'm happy about it too. So what about you?" She asked.
I furrowed my eyebrows not exactly sure what she meant. She smiled at me. "Do you have a boyfriend or anyone you're interested in?" She asked giggling like a teenager.
I smiled down at my island. "I don't really know anymore." I answered.
"What do you mean you don't know?" She asked with a weird look before she picked up her glass of water yet again.
"Well me and this guy we're going out on dates and stuff until I kinda broke it off yesterday because it was affecting my job." I said with a sigh.
"What do you mean affecting your job?" She asked with furrowed eyebrows.
"Well he's one of my student's father." I said with a sigh. Amy's eyes went wide.
"Holy shit!" She said putting her cup down. "How much older than you is he?!" She asked shocked.
I laughed, "He's not older than me at all actually."
"How did you end up that lucky? All the fathers that stroll into my classroom are pushing 40 years old it seems like." She said with a laugh.
I shrugged and stood straight up. "He's so hot Amy. You have no idea and I really started to fall for him too." I said looking down at my tiled kitchen floor.
"Why don't we go out tonight?" She asked me with a smirk. I smiled up at her knowing exactly what she meant by going out and I was so down. I needed it.
