Tortuga

Andromeda's POV

We reached Tortuga safely now Will and I following Jack as we look for someone called Gibbs. I wonder if it's the same Gibbs that was sailing with my family and I on the crossing from England. I always did enjoy his stories before he left Port Royal. "It is a sad life that has never breathed deep the sweet, proliferous banquet that is Tortuga? Savvy" Jack tells Will and I. "What do you think?" he asks us.

"It'll linger" Will and I reply. Though I am intrigued at this way of life, maybe being a pirate wouldn't be so bad. As long as I never got branded and my identity got out to the navy. I could always visit my family in Port Royal. Just as I tune back into the conversation a girl with dark brown hair slapped Jack making my giggle.

Just then a blonde woman comes up to us or my precisely Jack. "Who is she? And who is she?" she asks gesturing from the girl that had slapped Jack and me. 'What' Jack says and she slaps him harder then the other girl did.

"I suppose you didn't deserve that either?" I ask him.

"I may have deserved it" he mumbles and we enter a bar. He speaks to the bar tender before leading us out the back to a pig pen. He grabs two buckets and fills them with water handing one to Will. When we found a man sleeping against a big and chucks the water onto him waking him from his slumber.

"Curse you for breathin' ya slack-jawed idiot! Mother's love, Jack. You should know better than to wake a man when he's sleepin'. Its bad luck" Gibbs tells him making me smile. Same old Mister Gibbs thinking everything is bad luck.

"Fortunately, I know how to counter it; the man who did the waking buys the man who was sleeping a drink; the man who was sleeping drinks it while listening to a proposition from the man who did the waking" Jack explains.

"Aye, that'll about do it" Gibbs states and Jack helps him to his feet. Before Will chucked the second bucket of water on him. "Blast! Damn it! I'm already awake!" he exclaims.

"That was for the smell" Will tells him and I giggle. We reenter the bar and I stand by Will against a pillar. While Gibbs sat down and Jack got them drinks. He tells Will and I to keep a sharp eye. Before going to sit with Gibbs and they began discussing something. They looked over to us at one point before finishing their drinks. Jack, Will and I went back to the Interceptor while Gibbs looked for a crew. I locked my door before going to sleep.

(Next morning) still Andromeda's POV

Gibbs arrived with the crew and we went onto the dock to meet them. I stand by Will as Jack inspected the crew. "So this is your able-bodied crew?" I ask not impressed.

"You, sailor" he says to the one with the parrot.

"Cotton, sir" Gibbs tells him.

"Mr. Cotton. Do you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders and stay true in the face of danger and almost certain death?" Jack asks. "Mister Cotton, answer man" he states when Cotton does not reply.

"He's a mute, sir. Poor devil had his tongue cut out, so he trained the parrot to talk for him. No one's yet figured how" Gibbs explains. That must have been painful.

"Mr. Cotton's... parrot. Same question" Jack tells the parrot.

The parrot squawks before answering "wind in the sails, wind in the sails."

"Mostly, we figure, that means 'yes'" Gibbs tells Jack.

"Of course it does, satisfied?" he asks Will and I.

"Well you've proven their mad" Will state and I nod my head in agreement.

"What's the benefit for us?" a woman's voice asks at the end of the line. We all walk do it to a person whose face is covered by a big hat. Jack lifts the front to reveal a dark skinned woman.

"Anamaria" Jack says and she slaps him making me laugh.

"I suppose, you didn't deserve that one either?" Will asks not hiding his amusement.

"No, that one I deserved" Jack states.

"You stole my boat!" Anamaria exclaims and I glare at Jack.

"Actually..." Jack starts to say and Anamaria slaps him again.

"Borrowed... borrowed without permission, but with every intention of bringing it back to you" Jack tells her.

"But you didn't!" she shouts and does she have a set of pipes.

"You'll get another one" Jack assures her.

"I will" she states pointing a finger at him.

"A better one" I tell them.

"A better one" Jack agrees.

"That one" Will says pointing at the Interceptor.

"What one?" Jack asks him and he nods his head to the Interceptor. "That one" he exclaims and we both give him a stern look. "Aye, that one. What say you to that?" he asks her.

"Aye!" she and crew shout agreeing and she takes her head back. Then grabs my arm and we head to the ship together. I notice Gibbs and Jack talking about something looking at us.

"Now you'll need a new outfit" Anamaria tells me smiling.

"True a dress isn't much good for fighting, I was just thinking of using one of the navy uniforms on board" I tell her.

"No you're not, you are practically an honorary pirate for this voyage and should dress like one. You can borrow some of my spare clothes" she tells me and I smile. "Where's your cabin?" she asks as we step onto the ship.

"I claimed the captain's cabin" I tell her and she laughs.

"You're alright for a land libber" she tells me smiling.

"Thanks and feel free to sleep in my cabin" I tell her. "With all these men around, us girls need to stick together" I state and she nods her head in agreement. We enter the cabin and I lock the door behind us.
