Liars Dice & Escape

Andromeda's POV

It's the day after Will and I arrived on the Flying Dutchman. I find him with his father as a organ playing music fills the ship. "An honor to meet you sir" I say smiling.

"The honor is all mine and I am sorry about your crew & ship" he tells me.

"I can get a new ship and the crew still lives on in my memory along with Greg's" I state. We come across three pirates playing liars dice. It's a pirate dice game and I got pretty good at it.

"I wager... ten years" states the hammerhead pirate.

"I'll match ten years" says a pirate with spines.

"Agreed" says the third pirate and they look at their dice.

"What me to explain?" I ask Will.

"I understand" he tells me as we watched the game, one of the players being called a lair. "It's a game of deception. Your bet includes all the dice, not just your own" he explains and I nod my head. "What are they wagering?" he asks his father.

"Years of service, it's all we have to bargain with" Bootstrap tells him.

"So any member of the crew can be challenged?" he asks us.

"Yes, even the captain" I tell him.

"I challenge Davy Jones" Will announces and the organ stopped playing. We hear someone with a peg leg approaching as the crew laughs. Davy Jones appears on the stairs across from us.

"I accept" he tells Will. Their game table is set and they are handed their dice/cups. "The stakes?" he asks Will.

"My soul. An eternity of servitude" Will stats confidently.

"Against?" Jones asks and I take out the drawing of the key placing it on the table.

"I want this" he tells Jones who looks at it surprised.

"How do you know of the key?" he asks Will and I.

"That's not part of the game is it?" I ask smirking.

"You can still walk away" Will tells him. One of Jones' tentacles pulls out the key from his vest to displays it. Before putting it back. He and Will shake their cups with the dice inside. Placing them on the table and a third cups join them as Bootstrap sits at the table.

"What's this?" Jones demands.

"I'm in, matching his wager" Bootstrap states nodding to Will.

"No, don't do this" Will begs.

"The die is cast" Bootstrap tells him. "I bid three twos" he bets. "It's your bid captain" he states.

"Four fours" Jones bets chuckling and Will looks at his dice.

"Four fives" he bets as Jones looks at his dice.

"Six threes" Bootstrap bets.

"Seven fives" Jones bids.

"Eight fives" Will bids.

"Welcome to the crew, lair" Jones chuckles.

"Twelve fives" Bootstrap announces and we all look at him. "Twelve fives, call me a lair or up the bid" he tells Jones.

"And be called a liar myself for my trouble?" Jones demands and reveals Bootstrap's dice. "Bootstrap Bill, you're a liar and you will spend an eternity on this ship! Master Turner, feel free to go ashore... the very next time we make port" he tells the Turners. "Same goes for you Miss Swann" he add looking at me. Before he and the crew leave.

"Fool, why did you do that?" I ask Bootstrap.

"I couldn't let you lose" he says looking at Will.

"It was never about winning, or losing" Will tells him.

"The key" Bootstraps says and we nods our heads. "You just wanted to know where it was" he states.

"Will get the key, I'll prepare our boat. We leave tonight" I tell him. "Bootstrap you can help me gather supplies" I add.

(That night)

"Take care of Greg" I tell Bootstrap as I put a bag into the longboat.

"I will, but where will you guys go?" he asks me.

"Isle Cruces, Jack should have the chest when we arrive" I state quietly. Just then Will appears. "Did you get it?" I ask him and he nods his head. Showing us the key before putting it inside his vest. He then spokes to Bootstrap who gave him a knife telling him to get to land as fast as possible. Afterwards we get into the long boat and Bootstrap lowers us into the water. We then row away from the Flying Dutchman.
