(Written in third person)
Sherlock and John are in a continuously blossoming relationship. Sherlock's parents were very accepting (mainly because Sherlock was actually interacting socially) and John's, despite not being very happy at the beginning, realised that it was him and that if they wanted to keep him, they had to accept who he loved. At first, they continued to hang out in the library at lunch and breaktimes and after school- but after a little while, Sherlock invited John around to his house and that became their new hangout after school and sometimes weekends. They would most often just sit or lie on Sherlock's bed, enjoying each other's company. John would go on his laptop or listen to music and Sherlock would either read or quite often sleep (because he never slept in the night) and John being next to him relaxed him or John would help him sleep in some way or another. Or the two of them would talk. Talk about anything; it could be the most random or even boring topic and yet they could talk for hours about it and end up in a fit of laughter at least once.
Sherlock didn't change his ways with everyone though. He still played the unemotional, isolated boy who didn't let anyone in. But every so often he would let John in, display his emotion- he even cried with him sometimes when he really couldn't hold it in. It scared the life out of John the first time. They had just walked into Sherlock's room after school and as far as John could tell, everything was completely normal. That was until Sherlock closed the door, dropped his bag on the floor and fell back against the door and slid down it limply. "Sherlock? What's wrong!?" John asked, slightly panicking. Then he saw the tears falling down Sherlock's cheeks and he went into full panic mode. He leant down next to him and rubbed his shoulder comfortingly. "They, they called me freak, again, repeatedly" he managed to get out between gasps for air and tears. "Who? I'll kill them. FOR GODS SAKE" John yelled; he'd found out about the bullying and name calling fairly quickly into their relationship and he absolutely hated it and often found himself fighting off the likes of Anderson and Sally Donovan. "No, John, please. Don't leave me" Sherlock begged. "Sherlock, that's never going to happen, I promise" John reassured pulling him into a hug. When Sherlock had calmed down, they moved onto his bed and continued holding each other for hours, Sherlock's long legs intertwined in John's and resting his head on John's chest as he eventually fell asleep...
They both had a maths test one day and it turned out John was failing maths miserably. Their teacher insisted that he needed a tutor in order to keep on top of the work and make sure he understood it. At first, she had tried to set him up with Sally Donovan, he was the second smartest in the class (after Sherlock of course) but she was one of the people who called Sherlock a freak and she never shut her annoying voice up; so John begged her to let Sherlock tutor him and, well she quite frankly couldn't really care less, so agreed. They restarted their library sessions as it was quieter than Sherlock's house and not after long, John was passing every mini test Sherlock threw at him with flying colours.
Despite having dated for just over nine months, the two had not been on a proper date. Sherlock really wanted to impress John and so asked his older brother Mycroft to help him organise the best date possible. Mycroft, being very pleased that Sherlock no longer shut himself away all the time and so supportive of their relationship, suggested a picnic on the beach of an evening and offered to drive them. So, on the arranged day, Sherlock packed up everything in the boot of Mycroft's car, including a big blanket and electric candles (so they wouldn't blow out). He then took John home with him after school, as per usual, but instead of going up to his bedroom, he left John, sitting quite awkwardly, in the living room while he packed the last of the picnic and put it in the car before leading John out and pushing him into the backseat. Mycroft started driving, and thankfully for Sherlock, felt quite awkward in the situation and so didn't talk much or ask any uncomfortable questions for the entire journey. When they got there, Mycroft said he had some errands to run and that he'd be back in 3-4 hours to pick them up. John was still very confused as to what was going on, even when they got right down to the beach. Sherlock told him to turn around and put his hands over his eyes and not to peak. John did as he was told, despite a great temptation to look, he resisted and remained facing the other way until he felt two hands on his shoulders and was spun around. He then removed his hands from his eyes to reveal the most romantic scene in front of him. There was a rug set out, covered in rose petals and glowing electric candles and plates and food set out. John felt tears fill up in his eyes; he'd never known Sherlock could be so romantic and thoughtful. "You don't like it?" Sherlock said, sounding dejected as he noticed the tears. "What!? No, Sherlock I love it. I had no idea..." John trailed off. "Then why are you crying?" He asked. John hadn't even noticed that some of the tears had spilled over until he mentioned it. "These are happy tears Sherlock, I'm not sad. I'm anything but" John explained. "Oh, ok. Shall we eat, Mr Watson?" Sherlock said offering his arm, which John took. "We shall, Mr Holmes". The two of them sat and ate, and talked and laughed on that rug, watching the sky change colours until it was dark and the candles provided the only light around them. Sherlock checked his watch and sighed deeply. "Mycroft will be waiting. We should probably go" he said getting up and starting to pack away the plates and rubbish. John helped and soon enough they were carrying it all back up to the road where they were dropped off. There was Mycroft, smiling at the two which was very rare. They all got into the car and John lent his head against Sherlock's shoulder, who, in turn, rested his head on top of John's head. "Thank you" John said. "You're welcome, I just wanted to thank you for putting up with me and giving me the best nine months of my life" Sherlock replied.
They were happy and would be for a very long time.
The End.
