A/N
So I'm planning on doing one of these oneshots for each character but in a different order than usual. It is also likely that they won't be updated one after the other so keep an eye open if you wish to read the other characters.
It would also be great if you guys could comment if you'd like me to do one with some of the female characters and if so which ones. Xx"Aaaaaaarrrrgggghhh" came a deep, angry Irish accent as your boyfriend walked through your front door of your home. You sighed loudly; you hated it when Jim was angry because it usually led to an argument and then he'd calm down and feel guilty and every time you'd forgive him straight away. You decided you'd try your best to keep your cool today and went out into the living room from where you'd been cooking in the kitchen. Jim was slouched on the sofa, his head leaning back and holding his hands over his face. You went and sat down next to him, turning to face him. "Jim. What's up?" you asked as cooly as possible and trying to keep a fairly expressionless face. He didn't reply-he didn't even move in anyway let alone acknowledge you were there. You sighed inwardly but remained as patient as possible. "Honey, come on. Just tell me" you continued hopefully. Still no reply. Your patience was running thin. "Jim" you tried again. "For gods sake Y/N just leave it!" He yelled. Normally you'd shout something back but you were really not in the mood and determined to stay calm like you'd told yourself. So, you just stood up and went back into the kitchen to finish the dinner you'd cooked for the two of you.
When you'd finished, you laid the table and called to let Jim know it was ready. You sat down and waited for him, silently debating whether to attempt conversation or not. After two or three minutes, he finally came trudged in and slumped down onto his seat. His attitude brought you to the conclusion not to talk and so you simply started your meal and the two of you sat there silently until you'd finished. When you had, you stood up noisily, took both of your dishes to the sink and began the washing up, making the plates and pots clash together as loudly as possible to make it clear enough how upset you were. You and Jim had argued many times before but this was different and you both knew it. He remained in his seat the entire time, staring blankly and silently. He was still sat when you left for your bedroom. You had made the decision to space yourself away from him to avoid a row. After almost two hours, you were half way through your favourite TV show when there was a soft, almost timid knock at the door. You almost expected to see someone else walk through the door- Jim was always confident, especially in himself, and he rarely ever knocked, let alone like that. You sat up straighter, left room for him to sit next to you before calling out a "come in". He pushed the door open and crept in. He stood very close to the door, his head ducked down and avoiding eye contact. You faltered slightly at this new side to him-he seemed almost vulnerable- but you quickly regained yourself and shortly stated; "sit" as you glanced down at the space next to you. He did as he was instructed but still hung his head. You waited for a moment to see if he was going to start but once it became clear that he wasn't going to, you quickly filled the silence. "So are you going to tell me what the matter is now?" you asked, a slight coldness to your voice to express your irritation. He sighed, "I had a bad day, OK? Can't we just leave it at that?" he replied. "No, we can't. There's clearly something that put you in this mood and you need to talk to me about it. Plus, I think you owe me at least that" you added. Jim sighed again and concentrated his stare onto his hands. But, nevertheless, he gave in and said, "Among other small things, I had an argument with one of my best men which resulted in me firing him after he made a comment about you" he finally explained. You frowned slightly; he'd fired someone just because they said something about you!? You weren't entirely sure what to say. "See I knew it was stupid. Why did I even say anything" Jim said all of a sudden, shifting slightly as preparing to get up and leave. "What? No, it isn't stupid. It's sweet. Don't be silly. Why didn't you just say that in the first place?" you asked hurriedly, worried he would leave. He finally brought his eyes up to look at you for the first time. "Because, I felt stupid for being so wound up about it. It also most likely had something to do with my temper and man's ego" he admitted. You chuckled slightly, grateful for his attempt to lighten the atmosphere. You looked into his chocolate brown eyes and he looked into your (e/c) eyes and you both got lost for a brief moment. Then, Jim shook himself out of it and said, "anyway, back to what I was going to say. (Y/N), I'm really sorry. I shouldn't have taken it out on you-again- and I know that I can't keep expecting you to put up with it. I promise I'm going to do my absolute best to stop this happening, although it may take a while. I'm sorry." You sighed-you were about to forgive him again. But something told you this time was different. He'd never promised you anything ever before and he seemed like the kind to stay sincere to their promises. So, you nodded, "I forgive you" you said. He sighed heavily and smiled widely at you. "But, you have to come to me next time- no matter how silly it may seem, if it's wound you up then you need to talk about it, ok?" He nodded vigorously.
"So, what now?" He asked. You thought for a second before coming out with "Cuddle?" half expecting him to turn it down. "Ok" he replied. Your eyes grew wide. "Really!?" you asked, totally shocked. "Yeah, anything for my queen" he persisted, to which you could only smile. He swung his legs around and lay himself down a bit but so that his head was still upright against the headboard. He held his arm out, gesturing for you to lie down in the space. You thought about it for a second. "Nah" you said "like this" and with that, you lay down, away from him slightly. He looked at you, confused, but before he could say anything, you grabbed his head and pulled it so that it was resting against your side. He started to resist and tried to move away but you were adamant and he realised that he actually really liked you holding him for a change and so relaxed into you. He was still in his work suit which can't have been comfortable so you slowly removed his suit jacket and he sat up slightly so that he could remove his tie and undo his top button. He then lay back down and you ruffled up his hair. He moved his hand to hit yours away but soon realised that he'd have done the same thing soon enough so allowed you to do it.
After about ten minutes in comfortable silence, Jim suddenly mumbled "(Y/N)?"
"Hhhmmm?"
"I love you"
His voice was muffled as his face was pressed against you but you could still distinctly make out those three words. You beamed widely before whispering "I love you too." You felt him relax even more at those words. After about a minute or so, he said "You know that I haven't slept properly for the last few nights?" You rested a hand down on his shoulder; "Just go to sleep" you whispered as you tightened you grip on him slightly, in a protective way. It wasn't even five minutes before his breathing slowed down completely and you felt his weight on you increase slightly. With as little movement as possible, you managed to pull a blanket up with your foot and laid it down over him and a little over yourself. Then you played with his newly ruffled hair as he slept peacefully.
