"Ashton?" Luke yelled. He had an inexplicable fear of the dark, and he needed someone, even if it was his subject of bullying for four years. There was a click, and then there was light. Ashton had lit a candle, and was working on lighting another. They were plain wax candles, and there were soon about 5, illuminating the room.

"How did you have the idea to get candles?" Luke asked, perplexed.

"I didn't. I saw them in the closet when I unpacked." Ashton explained, then walked over to the window. The huge city's lights began to flicker off, until there was a black skyline, shining in the moonlight.

"City wide blackout." The door swung open and Calum walked in, followed by Michael.

"And this means, TRUTH OR DARE!" Michael yelled. "Unfortunatly, we have no alcohol, but we can still have fun!" They sat down in a circle.

"You sound like a high school health teacher." Luke mumbled, but joined them.

"K, so, I'll start." Michael smiled. "Luke. Truth or dare?"

"Um...truth." Luke immedently regretted that choice.

"Okay. Which one of us would you want to bang the most?"

"Yup, I'm going to need a ton of booze to do this." Luke announced, going to the fridge. He pulled out a pack of beers, and everyone grabbed one or two. They returned to the circle, drinking their beer in partial darkness.

Ten minutes later, everyone was partially drunk, and Michael giggled, "answer now, Luke."

"Probably Ashton. He looks cuddly." Luke said honestly, winking at Ashton, who felt very uncomfortable. He had poured the beer out and replaced it with soda. He needed to make sure they didn't kill themselves.

"K, Calum, truth or dare?" Luke slurred.

"Dare!"

"I dare you... To feel michaels dick over his pants for 1 minute, or under his pants for 30 seconds."

Calum wasen't drunk enough to be completly unembarrased. "Fine."

"You can go in the bathroom." Luke said, laughing.

The two went off and returned a minute later, both blushing severly.

"Oh, you're going to pay, Luke." Calum snarled.

"No tagbacks!"

"Fine. Ashton, truth or dare?"

"Um..." While a dare would probably be something horrendously awkward, the truth probably isn't safe. "Dare,"

"You have to hold Luke's hand for the next ten minutes."

Luke smiled and grabbed Ashton's hand. Ashton felt a tugging in his gut, but ignored it. "That's weak, Cal."

"Okay, um... Michael, truth or dare?"

"Truth."

"Are you straight?" Ashton figured the best time to confirm this was now, when everyone was basically his puppet.

"Nah, I'm bi." Michael laughed and took a drink. "Luke, I dare you to go in the other room and do 7 minutes in heaven with Ashton!"

Ashton felt his heart practically stop. Luke, on the other hand, practically dragged him to the other room and closed the door.

"You know, Luke, we don't have to, I mean..." Ashton said, twisting his hands.

"Why not?" Luke pouted.

"Well, I haven't actually been drinking." Ashton admitted.

"Neither have I." Luke said, staring at Ashton. Ashton felt his heart jump as he stared into Luke's bright blue eyes, which seemed to be getting closer at an alarming rate. They were just about to touch their lips when Luke cleared his throat.

"Not a good idea." He whispered breathily.

Ashton drew away. "You're right! We should just send them home, it's late and I'm tired."

"Yeah, same." Luke said, hoping it was dark enough to concel his blushing.

A few minutes later, Michael and Calum were in their own room, and Ashton and Luke were in their own beds, wearing their boxers, trying to sleep. Luke's phone and laptop had both died, and he couldn't help but panic. He really couldn't stand the dark. The candles had been blown out, and the moonlight wasen't much help.

"Luke?" Ashton whispered.

"Yeah?" Luke said, thankful for a human voice.

"I'm kinda... Scared of the dark." He mumbled.

Luke then did something he never thought he would have. He walked over to Ashton's bed and said, "scoot over."

"What?" Ashton asked, eyes wide in the dim light.

"Just do it." Luke said tiredly. All he wanted was to be safe, and with Ashton was the only thing he could think of.

Ashton shifted to his wall, and he felt Luke climb in after him. He froze when he felt Luke's arms wrap around him and draw him closer to Luke's bare chest. His skin felt like it was on fire.

"How am I supposed to fall asleep now?" Ashton mumbled.

"Shhh." Luke whispered, cuddling closer. "I was right. You are cuddly." He then drifted off to sleep.

Ashton closed his eyes and slowly drifted asleep.

When they woke up, it was still dark outside. Ashton clicked on his phone. One AM.

"Go back to sleep, ashy." Luke mumbled, "I'm tired and you're warm.

"I'm not tired." Ashton said. "I want to talk."

"About what?"

"Everything." Ashton said simply. Luke sighed and rolled off the bed. He walked over to the window and opened it, then climbed out.

Ashton stood there in disbelief until he heard a "come on, ashy!" The new nickname was not unwelcome, and Ashton felt his face go red as he climbed out the window. Luke was waiting there, on the fire escape. Ashton sat down next to Luke, legs dangling over the dark street.

"Damn." Luke started, whispering it softly.

"What?" Ashton was rather confused.

"I think I'm on the verge of something that is rather important to my life."

"Which is?" Ashton looked at Luke, who was looking down at his kicking legs.

"I think... Um... Oh my god!" Luke said. The lights of the city began to flicker on again, illuminating Luke's excited face. "Let's tell Michael and Calum!" He said, getting up.

"But... What were you saying?" Ashton asked, confused.

"Oh, I think I still need to sort some things out." Luke said as he climbed back through the window.

"But..." Ashton sighed and followed him. They went through the bathroom and opened the door.

"Holy fuck!" Luke screamed.
