A few weeks had past. I've been making up excuses to see Keith by telling my parents that I needed to assist them or trade with them. Usually, i'd pick out random fruits from the farm to bring to their house. Jess and Noah would be so thankful for the kind offer and Keith would always come running downstairs to hug me although I was sweaty and gross from all the work I did.

So i decided to take a break for awhile. Hunk, Pidge, and I went on several mountain adventures with Keith. We brought him to places. Restaurants, more camping, more hiking, rodeos, and much more. He seemed to enjoy all of it.

But throughout all those small adventures, I always felt that someone was watching us. Keith had been getting things like poisoned drinks, broken items, and all other dangerous things. He was hurt again few times, but they were minor like a small cut or tummy aches. I managed to think a step ahead and prevent him from worse harm.

Today, we hung out together in his room. It wasn't much as an adventure since we were indoors in a house... but being alone with him in a place so private was good enough. I was sitting, my legs crossed on the bed, listening to Keith's old radio. He listened to old music... like Elvis Presley or the backstreet boys. His taste kind of sucked in my opinion but I didn't complain about it.

Keith was searching for more photo albums to show me. I guess that was his way of preventing me from getting bored. Once he found one, he comes to sit on the bed, close to me, his legs between mine. His clinginess was... cute sometimes. I wouldn't blame him. He spent all his life without a lot of attention from his parents and Jess and Noah, so of course he'd end up like this.

"Okay please don't fall asleep now! I promise. This would be fun" he smiles and flips through the photo album. I groaned and tossed my head back. He showed me so many already... why can't we do sometime like... a board game! Or make out with each other... nah.

"Okay... but just one page. Then we can play connect4 maybe?" I glanced at the dusty board game sitting on top of everything on his book shelf.

"Sure" he sighed. He shows me another photo of him as a young kid with his birth dad. Pretty cute... he was sitting on the floor helping him cook something... red.

But something caught my eye. I'm not sure if I was just being... paranoid. But in this photo, Keith's father wears the same wide creepy smile as in every other picture. Whether he was being fake, or he was actually... that happy. Keith's mother, on the other hand, always seemed upset, but looks as if she had to force a grin.

So later on, I decided to go downstairs to ask Noah about it. Maybe I was being... too curious. And maybe asking would be a rude gesture, but Noah wouldn't be mad at me for asking.

He was baking in the kitchen, making cupcakes with the apples I picked from the farm. I knocked on the wall to get his attention and he turns to look at me. "Ah! Lance. How are you and Keith doing upstairs?"

"Fine" i replied. "But um... I'm not sure if it would be rude to ask, but could you tell me a bit more about Keith's past. You don't have to... I understand if its too personal."

He wipes his hands with a rag and takes a seat on the stool. "What made you bring it up?"

I shrugged. "Dunno... just curious" I lied.

He takes a deep breath. "Well... Jess and Keith doesn't know about this either... I would tell them if they asked, but no one in this family really brought it up. And since you are our kind friend and the first lover of our son, i'd be okay to tell you."

I leaned on my elbow, interested in hearing what he had to say.

"Keith's birth parents were satanic cultists..."
