When they stepped into the room, the clan elders and the Hokage, as well as the councilors and another older ninja looked over at her. She darted behind Shisui, gripping his shirt as she shook. He could see the looks in their eyes. All except the Hokage, they all looked at her with a mixture of fear and distrust.
"There can be no doubt," one of the elders said as he stared at her hard. "The resemblance is uncanny."
Inoichi seemed conflicted as he tried to coax the girl over to him. "Tsukiko, come here."
She shook her head, almost violently as she gripped Shisui's shirt so tightly her knuckles turned white.
"Hey," Shisui said warmly. "It's ok, he's just gonna do what he did earlier. I promise."
She hesitated, and when the Hokage stood, he thought she was going to hide behind him again, but she just watched as the old man walked over to her.
Something seemed to pass between them, and she released her hold on his shirt and took the Hokage's outstretched hand.
"Shisui," the old ninja said heavily. "Please wait outside with Itachi."
Confused, he bowed politely. "Yes, Lord Hokage."
