Tsukiko stepped out, and the moment the door closed behind her, Shisui was there. She smiled with relief, as he grinned widely at her.

"See? That wasn't so bad, was it?"

She laughed a little, though some tears slipped through her eyes.

"Ah! Woah, don't cry!" he panicked, looking over his shoulder at the younger dark-haired boy. "Itachi, help me out!"

Itachi made a face that looked like he had no idea what to do, and the two boys threw panicked looks between each other as the tears fell faster. She smiled, though.

"I'm not sad," she said. "I'm a little scared, but mostly I'm just happy."

"Huh?"

"The Third trusts me," she smiled. "He doesn't think I'm an enemy, and he will let me learn to be a ninja."

Shisui smiled hugely, while Itachi's smile was more reserved. "That's great!"

"Yeah," she smiled, wiping tears from her face. "It means I can keep my home safe."

Shisui plopped a hand on her head and ruffled her hair. "Yeap!"

"Good luck," Itachi said, as he smiled encouragingly at her.

She wasn't placed on a genin team. Due to her unique circumstances, it was decided that she would instead be trained directly by Fugaku so that the Uchiha clan could keep an eye on Ryuka. However, as the days turned to weeks, there was no sign of the other entity. Tsukiko herself made rapid progress, as she had an inherent understanding of chakra and various techniques. Those who had been made aware of her... situation, chalked it up to pre-existing knowledge from Ryuka. Others who knew of her abilities claimed it was an understanding she learned from the minds of others. Some just called her a genius.

Fugaku wanted her to stay in the compound, in order to watch her more closely, but she would not leave Naruto's side.

Instead, officers were placed on patrol near her home. Anbu watched her. She knew all this, knew that they distrusted her. But she was content, because, in her eyes, the ones that mattered were the ones who accepted her. She had built her family, and she was happy.
