"Ari!" I shout thought the forest.Only the birds reply.
"Ariana!!!"
My breathing gets heavier.
Don't panic Mac... I tell myself. It's okay...
I inhale deeply, mustering all the breath within me,
"Ari!!!!"
"Malcolm?" A soft voice murmers.
I turn around and she is right there.Beautiful. Bewildered.
I run to her.
I am so relived that I hug my precious love so so tight.
She looks at me confused.
"Babu. Are you okay?"
"I'm perfectly fine now I have you in my arms." I scan her for scratches and injuries. I am so overjoyed, I kiss her deeply. Then hold her closer.
"Ari, where did you go? Don't scare me like that ever again."
Her big glazed chocolate eyes gaze up at me innocently. She pouts.
"I saw a baby deer and it just looked so cute. I followed it into the forest. I wanted to make sure it found its mommy."
I chuckle at Ariana, knowing she is not lying. That is such an Ariana thing to do.
"It found it's mommy." She batters her eyelids, content.
"Now baby. Let's go to the cabin, unpack and get you in some warmer clothes." I tell her gently.
"Sounds good to me." She stands on tiptoe and kisses my bottom lip.
We go back to the car. I mentally face-palm for leaving the car open, but everything has been left where it should be. I open the car door for Ari like a gentleman and peck her lips as I insert her seatbelt.
The drive to the Cabin is a short but scenic one.
My love gasps in amazement when she see's it.
It is nestled beside a gorgeous glacial blue lake.
"It looks so cosy."
Ari places her hand on mine, looking up at me.
"It's perfect for us." I agree.
I make sure that my love stays my side as I carry the suitcases over to the Cabin.
"It smells sweet ... like pinewood and orange blossom." She comments as we enter.
I look around and grin. There is a fireplace, a really really comfy looking couch, soft rug on the floor before the fireplace, an open planned kitchen and scented candles in every corner.
We share an excited glance, Ariana taking my hand and pulling me into the house so we can explore further.
