Your POV:
13 years later...
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY Y/N!" Your best friend yelled as she/he hugged the life from you.
"Thanks B/F/N. But you don't have to make such a big deal of it. It doesn't matter that much." You said. It really wasn't. No one ever celebrated your birthday at the orphanage.
Your mother had passed away 8 years ago in a house fire. Everything perished, including your mom. After, you were sent to the orphanage as there was no one to adopt you or take you in.
Thor and Loki had left a year before the fire to there home. They never told you where it was. Come to think of it, you didn't know much of their background. They didn't like speaking of it. Every time you'd ask they would tense up. So you slowly stopped asking as time passed.
"Of course it is y/n! You're officially a legal adult!" She/he exclaimed.
"It doesn't matter, in a few months I'm going to be homeless, that's nothing to be celebrating." You said. It was true, in a few months they were going to kick you out of the orphanage.
"Well don't think about it, my mom's going to be out of the house tonight so you can come relax and watch a movie or something tonight for your birthday." She/he said. Her/his mom didn't like me much, knowing that You lived in an orphanage so you're not usually welcome in their home, unless her/his mom is out.
"Fine. But only cause I have nothing better to do." You replied reluctantly. You had been very closed off since a year after you had moved into the orphanage. You weren't liked much in the orphanage and had most of the work thrown on you during the weekdays. You, thankfully, get the weekends off. And you were going to spend it with your best friend.
You parted ways and started walking home when it started to rain, you smiled. You loved the rain. It reminds you of Thor. He loved the thunder. So you loved it too. It reminds you of what it was like before the fire. All the happy memories.
Then the thunder and lightning started. And it rained harder. Then a bigger flash of light came. You found it unusual but continued on as you assumed it was just lightning. You got to the orphanage and walked inside to get some dinner before you headed off to y/b/f house. You made a sandwich and ate it as you waited for the rain to stop.
You then got a text from y/b/f.
Bestie:
I'm going to have to cancel. My mom's plans were ruined because of the rain. I'm sorry y/n.
You:
It's okay.
You replied short and simple. It was always like this, everything was always changing. You thought Thor and Loki would be there forever but they up and left. You thought your mom would always be there but she died. You thought you'd always live in that house but it burnt down.
You walked to your room and decided to sleep till you had plans. That could be a while though. You loved your room. It took you a couple years to perfect, but it's just right. You decided to change into pajamas, you wore a f/c shirt and black shorts.
You slipped into the bedding. You just couldn't fall asleep though. Your thoughts always came back to Thor and Loki. They were mysteries and you could barely figure them out. You only knew that Thor loved pop tarts, his hammer and his family and friends. And Loki was cold to people he wasn't close to, and liked to play pranks and eat ice cream with me. Thor was a big softie and Loki was a mischievous guy.
These thoughts slowly put you to sleep and into dreams of Loki and Thor.
