Chapter 22:

"I'm not ready for this." I tell her. She then frowns, then gets mad, "WHY NOT, PEETA? HUH? WHY NOT?" She yells at me, I know she's mad because one this is a big move for her and two probably because would have been her first time.

"You know why, Katniss!" I say, getting closer to her this time. "Because 1. WE'RE ON A FRICKEN' TRAIN! 2.SOMEONE COULD WALK IN ON US AT ANY TIME! 3.I'M NOT READY FOR THIS!! and 4. Because we're not married yet! I love you, Katniss. But, I'm NOT ready for this! Maybe AFTER we're married, then maybe! I want kids, Katniss! Yeah, I do! But not at 16 and 17!" She starts to cry now, So I go and get dressed, letting her cry and think about what she was just about to do with me. After about an hour,

"I'm sorry, Peeta! I was just caught up in the moment! I'm sooo not ready for this! I love you, too! But, will you just come over here and lay, and talk with me?" She asks, as she puts her clothes on now. I go to lay with her in bed, wrapping my arms around her. "Peeta? ow many kids do you want?" She asks me, but not looking at me, but playing with my fingers as she enter-twines our hands and fingers. I let her play with my hand,

"I want...one, maybe two, kids. A boy and a girl. The girl would be older, and the boy younger--" I say, watching her play with my fingers.

"I want the same! But I actually never thought about having kids with anyone, until now." She says, as the train stops. We then look out the window and realize we've been up all night talking! We're rushed out of bed, and into Mayor Undersee's house, and up to the third floor to be prepped and dressed. I hear Katniss is dressed in a full-length silver gown, I've still got an hour to kill before dinner, so I slip off to find Katniss, who was put to get prepped on a different floor, but I don't know which one.

As I'm searching, I stop to poke my head in the Mayor's office to say hi, but he's not there. I'm about to leave, when a beeping noise catches my attention. I turn back to see the screen on the TV go black. Then the words "UPDATE ON DISTRICT 8" start flashing. I know that this is not for my eyes, only the mayors. I should go. Quickly. Instead I find myself stepping closer to the TV.
An announcer I've never seen before appears. Talking about how a Level 3 has been called. They cut away from the announcer showing footage of people destroying buildings and burning stuff.
