We were awoke by a loud buzzing sound, like a siren, depriving me of my sleep.
I put my pillow over my head to try and drown it out but someone burst out screaming and I opening my eyes to see Valarie as squeally as always, "Shopping!!!!"
I groan loudly, I'm definitely not a shopping kind of girl. This is possibly for the homecoming ball today which I'm not looking forward to.
Unlike some of the girls here, I'm not schooled in etiquette. I don't know the difference between a tea spoon and a desert spoon and honestly I don't care to learn.
Valarie runs around to wake up the other girls and they're quickly running around trying to get ready for the dress makers to enter our room.
I sluggishly roll out of the bed, much later than the rest of them which is shown in theirs and the dress makers look when they see my appearance.
Charlize doesn't look at me for too long before she takes one of them and start giving instructions on exactly she wants her dress to look like. I bet she'll make it as flashy as possible to stand out from the sea of people that are going to be there.
Valarie flicks through different types of materials
Cheryl hands the guy an Emerald swatch and tells him to make a dress matching the colour
And Sapphire looks at Sapphire coloured dresses with different designs
This isn't shopping.
Not really knowing what I want, I watch the rest of them with hawk eyes, maybe I'll catch something I like and copy it.
This ball is going to be in front of the King and Queen, showing any sort of cleavage is impolite and certainly frowned upon.
I may not want to win the princes heart but I don't want to offend the royals at the same time.
"What would you like ma'am?" One of the dress makers ask
I sigh not exactly knowing still, "Just make me look beautiful, not princessy or showy, just beautiful."
He grins at me nods his head before starting to work, taking my measurements and telling me about his life story.
His name is Guiel, he's worked at Castle Carlyle since he was 16 years old, now 23, this castle has been his second home.
I have faced away from the mirror whilst he sowed me into my dress, he smoothed it down slightly
"Perfect." He grins, "You can turn around now."
I let out a breath and turned around to see a beautiful satin gold dress that hugged my whole body making me dangerously self aware that I have larger hips than the rest of the girls here.
Childbearing hips my mum use to say
The back was bare and I could see the line that runs through my back.
"You look so beautiful, Elise." Valarie complimented and I turn to see her in a poofy dress, really fit for a ball.
"Too beautiful, you're going to need to change." Charlize tells me as she smooths down her dress and I see her in a strappy silver dress which had a plunging neckline, very inappropriate.
"I worked very hard on that so that'll be a no." Guiel tells her, helping me down from the pedestal he'd sown me on
"Doesn't matter anyway, one look at you and they'll know you're not Queen material." She says convinced and I look at Guiel who starts muttering something in Spanish
"People shouldn't throw stones when they live in glass houses." I respond keeping my head up and smiling at Guiel.
It's clear she's jealous, probably looks at me as a threat when in reality I don't want the prince as a mate nor will I get the prince as my mate.
The dressmakers left and Guiel promised he'll be back to help with any presentations I needed in front of the royals which I guess is needed.
Next in came hair and make up.
They put large cover ups over our dresses to ensure that the dresses don't get damaged with make up and other sorts.
Its barely 2pm, meaning that something must be taking place before this ball.
They pinned my hair up in an eloquent bun in order to not hide the best feature of the dress being the back.
When they were all done and dusted I felt like Mia Thermopilis in Princess Diaries but I believe that Sapphire looked to most beautiful.
The sapphire coloured dress suited her complexion the best and trumpet tail helped bring out her curves. She's really a true gem.
"Love the hair, Cheryl." Charlize commented, looking at her in a scrutinised manor when the hair and make up artists left.
The girls are currently sitting down waiting for the next person to drop by.
Charlize is being very civil towards Cheryl and it's pissing me off, she can be civil with Cheryl but bark nasty things at me all the time.
There was a knock on the door and The General who introduced himself as General Leroy making his name not suit the persona he portrays.
"The first screening begins now." He informs us and I see Valarie tense up slightly, I put my hand on her shoulder trying to soothe her slightly but I don't think it's working.
"What are we being screened for?" Sapphire questions.
"That's for Her Majesty The Queen to decide."
The Queen? I'm actually going to see her?
"The person she releases will be sent home immediately." Leroy informs us before telling us to follow behind him.
Oh the game has definitely begun.
