"And the walls came tumbling down in the city that we love."

"What the hell?" Was all Alex could put into actual words.

"Great work Bones." Jim groaned.

"Thanks Jim, now I...just have to figure out how to land."

Alex rubbed her temples to stop her world from spinning.

"Keptin, I have three hull breaches from ze impact. Deck 3, ze cargo bay, and ze engine room."

"Chekov and Sulu, check Deck 3 and the cargo bay. We need to know if the weapon has been neutralized and Krall's dead." Jim motioned for Alex and Uhura to follow him to the Engine room.

The three of them each held flashlights up to phasers to check for any signs of life on that end of the ship. Alex's muscles ached and screamed at her, while her brain forced them to keep moving one step at a time. They met up with Scotty and Jaylah as soon as they started the search. She scanned a mess of live wires and sparks, gagging when she saw a mess of a human body.

"Jim!"

The others rushed over to her, eyeing the body in the wires.

"It's Krall." Uhura growled. "We've seen him do this. It's some kind of energy transfer, and it physically changes him."

Jim and Alex looked at her. "He must still be on board. Someone would have seen him leave."

Jim whipped out his communicator. "Sulu, contact Yorktown security and lock down the ship."

He turned around to check the next room over to start a scan of the ship. Uhura and Alex reluctantly followed his footsteps, where they heard a video recording playing over a sound system. Jim and Uhura inched ahead, but Alex turned to the screen to watch a crew preparing for a mission.

They were all delightful, cheering and excited. Alex rewinded the video, trying to pick out one individual she heard. Uhura came up behind her and squinted at the screen.

"Right there." She pointed at one man in particular.

Alex slowed the video down to reel in on that particular man. She kept scrolling back and hearing the words "Push the frontier" intrigued her. Was this the man they were looking for?

"Captain!" Uhura called as Alex continued to scroll back and slow the video down. After one, two three more scrolls, Alex was able to lock on to the man Uhura was looking at. "It's him."
