"I don't know where the lights are taking us
But something in the night is dangerous."

The few ships they could see exploded into an alarming mass of hundreds of thousands of little ships, and they immediately locked on to the Enterprise, shooting forward.

"Fire at will!"

Sulu and Chekov fired the phasers and a torpedo, only to watch in horror as the ships were able to dodge them.

"Sir, our phasers are having minimal effect and our torpedoes cannot track their movements!" Chekov cried.

"Fire everything we've got." Jim's hands balled into fists as he grew more anxious.

"Captain, we are not equipped for this manner of engagement!" Spock warned.

The ship kept firing as the little ships began to surround the outside of the Enterprise.

"Shield frequencies have no effect, sir!" Chekov yelled again.

"They took out the dish! The shields are inoperable!" Sulu added.

"Warp us out of here, Mr. Sulu."

"Yes sir." Sulu slammed the warp drive but they continued to float through the masses.

"Why aren't we moving?" Jim shouted.

"I can't engage the warp drive!"

Jim turned on the comms. "Scotty, I need warp now!"

Alex heard his heavy breathing on the other end. "I canne sir, the cells they...... they've gone."

Alex took an iron grip on Bones' wrist as he backed up in fear.

Jim began to rattle off shipwide orders. "Security engage all emergency procedures. Activate protocol 28 code one alpha zero. All personnel to alert stations."

Bones turned around right for the turbo lift, and Alex followed suit. Spock stood up from his post, grabbing a phaser from his seat and standing in between the two as they set off to their stations.

Red light and smoke crowded the hallways of the saucer, officers scrambling to their posts. Alex grabbed an extra rifle from the selections and armed herself. It looked as if some of the little ships had penetrated the walls of the Enterprise and pried their way into the ship. Spock, Bones, and Alex all looked at each other in horror as they silently decided to split up.

Bones pulled out his tricorder to search for survivors or extra terrestrials while Alex covered him. She tried to take a deep breath, but she inhaled smoke and coughed.

"I have identified the individual who appears to be leading the attack party. He infiltrated the archive vault and removed the artifact from our mission on Teenax."

Alex heard Spock's voice from down the halls. It sounded like he was running away from someone. The two trailed through the fog, and Bones was not picking up any life signs, which contradicted the fact that there were bodies littering the floor.

Bones saw someone that looked as if they were still alive, and raced over to him.

"My god..." He pulled out his portable X-ray. "What the hell?"

They both looked up as they heard shots that didn't sound like a phaser.

"Alexandra!" Spock yelled. They looked up and saw Spock sprinting ahead of some of the intruders. "We need to evacuate the ship!"

Bones and Alex took of running in front of Spock. She shot a few intruders out of their way as the ship began to turn on its side, lurching the three of them forward. Alex shrieked and caught on to something but Spock and Bones continued to fall down on to the ground and slide all the way down into the open escape pod, the doors just closing as they were shot at.

"Wait!" Alex screamed. She was too late. The pod jettisoned from its dock and shot the two men into the vastness of space.

Spock's phaser dropped next to her and she grabbed it, turning around to shoot her two followers. She pulled her way up into the adjacent hall, groaning in pain. Alex turned to look at her arm, and there was a burning hole in the sleeve of her dress, leaving a slight burn mark on her arm.

"Shit." Alex took off running as the ship began to straighten out. She looked for the medbay, smoke increasing around the whole ship. As soon as she reached the medbay, much to her horror, there was a giant hole blown into the front doors.

"Hello?" She called, arming the phaser to kill.

She saw a pair of eyes blink in the smog, and a voice barely above a whisper called to her.

"Alex...."

"Valdez!" Alex called out. She stepped further into the medbay, kneeling down next to the nurse. Alex cradled her head to try and keep her back straight. But Valdez's teeth were covered in blood and her face was bruised and bloodied, a massive burn scorching her side.

"....you ne...need t-to go." Her eyes began to roll back into her head.

"Maya Valdez, look at me!" Alex's voice cracked as the nurse fell limp back on to the floor.

"No..."

Alex stood up, hands shaking, her throat closing from an imminent panic attack. She just lost one of her best nurses. She didn't know where M'Benga and Christine were. She didn't know where Jim was, and Bones and Spock were lost in space in a pod that was likely to crash.

She stood her head and groaned loudly out of exhaustion, anger and fear. Alex walked straight to the back of the medbay and opened the door to her Kelvin pod. Jim had made sure her and Bones each had one accessible. She stepped in and the door closed behind her.

Alex cringed and slammed the button to eject her Kelvin Pod from the ship. The small pod whirred into place and shot out into the depth of space at a frightening speed. Out in the open, multiple pods were being taken away.

"Oh my god." Alex cried. Tears stung her cheeks as her pod automatically began to retro fire through the planet's atmosphere. She got her first glimpse of the ship from the outside, and boy, was it a sight to see.

The saucer and neck were detaching right as she was jerked downward towards the planet, spinning at an uncontrollable rate, hitting reentry at god knows how many feet per second, and the dizziness got the best of her, causing her to black out before she could see land.

*teeth chattering* it's all gone to shit
