Halloween

Stefan was great in Mr.Tanner's class. Especially when it came to the Italian Renaissance. The Halloween dance was coming up and it was costumes only. There was going to be a maze which Bonnie, Meredith, Matt, Stefan and I were going to be working. I was going to surprise him with my costume. I was going with aunt Judith to get it after Bonnie Meredith and I finished the measurements for the maze. When that was done the others would be putting it together. We went to the gym after school ended( and football practice was going on). After a while we heard the sounds of the football team in the locker room.

"Elena, Stefan can deal with not being with you for one day."

Damn, that girl was good at reading minds. We started to pack up around eight thirty. I stayed to finish putting everything away while they went to find the janitor so they can lock the doors. The lights flickered out and I felt someone in front of me.

"Hello beautiful," a deep voice said.

"If your looking for someone then you should try somewhere else because no one is supposed to be in here."

"I may have already found her, Elena."

How did he know my name?

Halloween

I still couldn't shake the feeling that something was going to go terribly wrong tonight. I was upstairs finishing with my costume. It was like what the girls in the Italian Renaissance wore. It was blood red and I loved it. I don't know how Bonnie convinced me to get Stefan to where the costume she thought would suit him best. A vampire. I looked at the clock and it was almost time for him to be here. I went downstairs to wait. I saw my little sister and she looked up at me with admiring eyes.

"I wish I had a dress like that," she sighed.

"I love your costume kitten."

She was dressed up like a white cat. I heard a knock on the door and I went to answer it. It was Stefan. He was wearing black and had fangs in. When he saw me his eyes went wide. Didn't he like my costume?

"What? Don't you like it?" I asked worried he didn't.

"No, it's beautiful. Let's go."

"Okay."

I had to walk through to make sure everyone was in place. I was going to show Stefan where to be after I made sure everyone was ready. I made it halfway through when I heard Bonnie. A werewolf came over and I saw that it was Matt.

"What's going on in there?" I asked him.

"Coach got sick so someone got Tanner to be the bloody sacrifice but he  won't put the fake blood on."

I went back to the druid room and saw Bonnie almost in tears.

"I'll talk to Tanner, just clear the room," Stefan said into my ear. I nodded and cleared the room of the druid priestess, Bonnie, the werewolf and Meredith, the witch. I was too busy getting people ready that I didn't pay much attention to the person dressed up as death go past me. Stefan came back out about three minutes later and he didn't look that good. It's the face paint. Was he wearing face paint?

"Hey are you feeling okay?" I asked him a little concerned.

"I'm fine. Where do you want me to work?"

"You can either work out front with Matt or serve refreshments to the workers in the locker room."

"I'll work in the locker room."

Stefan

Compelling Tanner drained me more than I thought it would. I walked towards the locker room hoping that Elena didn't think that anything was seriously wrong with me. When I got in the room started spinning and I hit the floor.

I heard a scream coming from the druid room. It wasn't one of the kids, it was Bonnie's. I ran to see what happened and found her with blood on her hands. She looked as if she saw a ghost. I walked over to her and she was mumbling something.

"He's dead.....This isn't fake blood, it's real."

I started to get everyone out of the room but a werewolf stopped them. He took the head off the costume and saw it was Tyler.

"Nobody goes anywhere until the police get here. The blood is still fresh so it had to be someone who is here. Someone with a history of violence....."

Oh no. He was talking about Stefan. I wouldn't be able to get through the crowd fast enough but I knew who could. Matt. He was not that far so I made my way over to him.

"Matt, I need your help."

"What do you need."

"Can you warn Stefan, they are going to start looking for him and you can get to him faster than I can. Please."

"Okay."

Matt

I ran to the locker room and found Stefan on the floor. I helped him up on to the closest bench.

"Hey are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine. What's going on out there."

"They're looking for you. They think you killed Tanner."

"Help me to my car and tell Elena I'm okay."

Elena

I left when the police arrived and Matt told me Stefan left. I drove to the boarding house and the door was opened. I went up to Stefan's room and everything was all over the place. Everything was on it's side or on the floor. The door going up to the rooftop was opened and I started to climb the ladder going up( exceptionally hard with heels on). I saw something in the far corner with birds at its feet. They turned so I was able to see their face and what I saw shocked me. It was Stefan. He had blood on his face and his hair was wild. I started walking backwards and the railing gave way. Suddenly I was flying towards the ground, about to die.
