A Beautiful Family

Holding Jesse was amazing. She was beautiful, just like her mother. Damon was holding Simon and when he saw Jesse his face lit up in amazement. I'm not sure if Damon had ever thought about how beautiful life can be.

"She looks just like her mother and Simon looks just like you. Congratulations little brother."

"Damon. You and Katherine are part of this family. Aunt Katherine and uncle Damon."

"That sounds great Stefan."

"Good."

I gave Jesse back to the doctor and we went out into the hallway. When the doctor came out I had to ask her about Elena.

"Can we see Elena?"

"I can go see. Stay here."

She walked down the hallway and came back five minutes later.

"Come on. I think she will want to see her children."

"What about Jessica?"

"I will bring her down."

We followed her down the hallway to a room. When we entered it I saw Elena. She looked better than earlier. Bonnie was sitting in a chair against the wall.

"Stef."

"Hey beautiful. I think someone wants to see you."

I went over to her and Simon was reaching out to her.

"Hi Simon. You look so much like your father."

"I think someone else wants to see you too."

I turned around and saw the doctor holding Jessica. I took her from her arms and took her to Elena.

"She's so beautiful. Hi Jesse"

"She looks just like you"

"May I come in?" someone asked from the doorway. It was Katherine.

"Yes. Come see your niece and nephew." Elena said.

She walked over to the side of the bed and looked at them.

"They are beautiful. What are their names?"

"Jessica Rose and Simon Lewis."

"May I hold Jessica."

"Yeah." I watched Katherine gently pick Jesse up and I saw something in her eyes I never thought I would see. Motherly love. This was going to be amazing. Jesse and Simon will always have someone who loves them.
