CHIKLIT/ROMANCE
"BULL! You still love that useless prick!"
"Harley!" I cry, "It's not him that I want! I lo-"
He punches the wall, forcing my favorite memory to shatter across the floor, "I'm going to kill him!"
Haunted by her memories, Liana...

I stood against the door, my pulse was racing, and my lips were lingering with an awakening pleasure. I was at a loss for words. My best friend- my gay best friend...had just...kissed me.
He looked away and said with a remorseful tone, "Liana, I need to tell you something. But-" The hammering of a fist on the other side of the door stopped abruptly. I heard a man begin to speak on the phone.
"Yes, Grandpa."
I recognized his voice right away. It was James. He answered back to his phone, "Yes Grandpa, I am sure she's home."
A silent pause slipped through the doorway long enough for the wheels in Harley's head to begin to spin.
The tone of James's voice seemed to shift to a sound of exasperation, "Because! I just know! Okay!"
My mind started to race in circles. I bit down on my lip trying to understand- to grasp just a piece of what was happening.
What the hell is going on? How did he know I was home? I mean, my car was left at the gas station! AND, who is to say I could be somewhere else in town?
Wh-what if.... oh my, GOD!
What if he was stalking me last night?
My insides were screaming run, but my brain was arguing with me.
Come on Liana! Try to be logical for Pete's sake! He would never hurt you!
Wait! What the hell am I say? I don't even really know him! I-I just met him yesterday after all!
What am I supposed to do!
I look up to Harley. There was a part of me that needed his reassurance, but the more I stared into his eyes, the more Harley's face became crimson-red. I had to say something to Harley-anything for that matter, Why? Because, I knew my silence was a dead giveaway to my unrelenting heart for this new boy whom I knew nothing about, and what was worse...Harley knew it too.
Harley's lips tucked tightly against his teeth. I stepped back against the door in fear. Harley had been so calm and gentle, until that night in the woods. Ever since that night, I wasn't so sure what he was capable of.
