"Harley!" I cry, "It's not him that I want! I lo-"

He balled his fist to his side and gritted his teeth and replied, "What?"
"Was everything you said and did in the bathroom a lie?"

Harley shifted his eyes to the left and looked away as he runs his thumb across his lip as he answers, "Yes."
"Wh-wh-why would you do that to me?" I ask confirming my apprehension.
"I already told you, I don't trust James. Plus, I knew you wanted to be more than just friends. You always have- especially when I proposed to you. So, I just used your desires to my advantage. It's no big deal, Liana. I don't understand why you are being so miserable about it."
I cried out loud, "Harley! You proposed to me in the woods! Yo-you were ready to marry me!"
He rolled his eyes and said in a sarcastic tone, "Yeah- to prove I was straight to our parents. You already knew that Liana."
"B-but... th-the way you kissed me in the bathroom... th-the words you said to me-"
Harley immediately cut off my words. He proceeded to stab me right through my heart with his next hurtful comment. He said coldly, "They meant nothing."
I screamed at the top of my lungs, "You are lying to me and you know it!"
Several people ran into the restaurant whispering foul comments.
"No. I'm not," he said as his voice sounded cold as ice. "Liana, I got to go."
He looked towards his watch on his wrist and said in a tone of aggravation, "It's already getting very late. I won't make it back home for another six hours. I already said I will call you when I settle in with my new job."
