Duel of Deception (Part 1)

Somewhere in the dark world of Keyron, Terra brings a Shadow Hunter's (Dimaru) Life Points to 0. The Shadow Hunter tries to flee the scene to escape his penalty however the ground beneath him breaks and devours him completely. As the Shadow Hunter disappears into the dark abyss, Terra celebrates her victory. "I did it!" Terra exclaims to herself, "Now to find Rai and the others. But where?"

Suddenly, Terra begins to hear the sound of clapping from afar. Terra begins to look around to try to identify where the clapping is coming from. Eventually, Terra detects a dark figure ascending toward her direction. As the dark figure continues to walk toward Terra, it begins to laugh maniacally, while Terra stands there, prepared to defend herself. The dark figure is finally revealed as Wally. "So you have defeated a Shadow Hunter," says Wally, with a demonic grin on his face, "Oh you must feel rather victorious." Wally lets out a slight laughter.

"Wally", says Terra in a serious tone, "What are you doing here? What is it that you want?".

"My, you got quite the temper now don't you?" Wally asks rhetorically as he laughs childishly, "I actually am just here with good spirit to congratulate you for your victory."

"You are everything but good!" exclaims Terra, "I witnessed what you did to Demeter and I assure you you will not harm anymore of my friends. I don't know what your deal with Kiram is Wally but your soul hunting and thirst for revenge stops here, understand?"

Wally laughs sinisterly, "Kiram is the reason to why I became this heartless monster you see in front of you! I find it quite foolish of you to not see things my way. The pain and despair I lived within this dimension. I was slowly consumed by complete darkness. Revenge is the only thing I have left in this empty heart of mine and believe me I'm willing to crush anyone who stands in my way".

"I will not allow that to happen. I've got you alone and cornered Wally. So enough talking" says Terra, "Once I defeat you, you must release every soul you have captured."

"Oh are you..", Wally bursts into laughter, " Are you challenging me to a duel?" Wally continues to laugh, "How valiant of you Terra. Just know that this is a mistake you will soon come to regret. You will end up an empty soulless shell just like your little friend Pylon"

"The only one who will regret everything they have done is you Wally. I am going to make you suffer the same way you made Pylon suffer. Now enough talking. Let's duel".

Terra and Wally both prepare their Duel Disks, and their Life Points are set to 4,000 each; respectively. Wally's left eye glows a dark purple color. Wally launches a shot of purple energy from his left eye toward Terra. A purple aura covers Terra's body completely. Terra stands startled, "What are you doing?". The purple aura around Terra disappears, as Wally laughs sinisterly.

"You see Terra", begins Wally, "this duel will be a little different. In this duel there is a price to pay, it partially comes with the fact that you foolishly challenged me to a duel. With each one thousand life points that we lose, a part of our memories will vanish along with them."

"What?!" asks Terra, slightly terrified by the idea.

"Why don't I just let you discover it on your own? I can predict that by the end of our duel your mind and heart will be filled with complete darkness! You will feel the same pain that I did. You will then understand what it's like to lose everything that was valuable to you. I have no recollection of my past, except that Kiram is responsible for my transformation. You will suffer the same fate that I did. So you better protect your life points if you want to keep yourself sane". Wally laughs maniacally.

"Wally you heartless monster!" exclaims Terra, "we can play it your way and the results will still be the same. I will defeat you".

"Yes indeed Terra, I am a heartless monster", responds Wally, "and you can thank Kiram for that. Crushing you will be more fun than I imagined."
