Into The Shadows (Part 3)

Previously on Yu-Gi-Oh! Synergy: Wally continues to taunt Alistor with his powers, creating memory sequences that led up to Terra's undoing. As Alistor fends off against Wally's brutality and attacks from his monsters, he also finds himself struggling to continue to duel. When Alistor finally witnesses Terra's loss against Wally he begins to lose his will to fight as well. He is overcome by his emotions and anger, thus allowing the darkness, that Darkos planted in his soul, to corrupt him. Alistor undergoes a dark transformation and becomes a Shadow Duelist. However, before he can test out his newly obtained powers, Wally senses the arrival of the Holders and ends the Shadow Duel; using Alistor's rage to his advantage and instructing him to avenge Terra's misfortune by eliminating the Holders. Alistor confronts Railo and blames him for what happened to Terra. Blinded by his anger he challenges Railo to a Shadow Duel, where only one will survive.

"So Railo, are you ready to come face to face with great annihilation?" asks Alistor. "I promise to make this quick."

"Alistor, why don't we just talk this out? There's no reason for anyone else to get hurt", says Railo. "We care about Terra as much as you do".

"Those are lies!" Alistor exclaims, "and I'm afraid that the time for talking is long over".

"What's your problem?!" Dante asks. "Last I recall you used Terra so that Roman can get to us! You're a liar and a traitor! You don't give a damn about anyone!"

"Well what can I say? Perhaps I've changed", says Alistor looking at Dante. "It's certain that you have too. If I recall, back in that time you turned away from your friends to go search for your father. You left your friends when they needed you most only because your matters seemed more important. Don't you remember?"

"You don't know what it's like to lose a father", says Dante, "to watch him die right in front of your eyes".

"We shouldn't compare our tragedies with others", says Alistor, "but if you must then no. I don't know what it's like to lose a father. But I do know what it's like to grow up living a lie."

All of them are surprised at what he said.

"You see Dante", begins Alistor, "I never got the chance to meet my real parents."

"No way", says Kiram in a low tone.

"I found out through Zihmon, that Roman wasn't my real father. My real parents abandoned me when I was only a baby. That's when Helen found me and her and Roman took care of me; before Helen passed away. It was her death that caused Roman's hatred for the world. It was her death that led me to become a Synergy Hunter. She wasn't my real mother, as I came to discover, but I couldn't have asked for a better one. When Roman ordered me to retrieve the Synergy Necklace from your friend Kira, I didn't know that that was the day I would change for the better. I met Terra that day and fell in love with her the more I got to know her".

"But you betrayed her", says Railo. "You betrayed all of us".

"If that's what you'd like to believe then go ahead. Just let me finish", Alistor responds. "When Roman found out I was friends with a Holder, he knew that it would bring about issues to his plan. He used my friendship with Terra for his own gain. He made it seem like I did use Terra, but I didn't. I didn't get the chance to speak to Terra afterward because Roman locked me up. He told me he would've left me out in the cold to starve the second that Helen died, but he also told me that he knew I would be of good use some day. So you see Dante, at least you got to see who your real father was. I grew up, raised by a monster who only used me. And now... I lost Terra and it's all your fault Railo!"
