i knocked on daehwi's door and smiled.
" don't worry samuel! binge watching kdramas is the best. " i say.
" ugh i am tired. i'm going back home. i'm too annoying so i don't wanna ruin your time with your boyfriend. " he says, walking off.
" nope.." i say, grabbing his wrist and throwing my arm over his shoulders.
" she's one of those girls who thinks she's too good for a boyfriend. goodness gracious, she was all nice when i was talking with her. " i mumble.
daehwi opened the door and let us in.
" daehwi! can you go and start the kdrama? cover samuel with pillows and blankets so that he's comfortable and won't leave. i will make some snacks. " i say, getting ready to cook something.
" alright! be careful and don't burn yourself nor cut yourself. " he says, pulling the gloomy child to his room.
🦑
i brought the food up to his room after cleaning up the kitchen.
there samuel was, snuggled into some blankets with a blank expression while daehwi was already crying because of the drama.
i chuckled and put the food on the table.
we all enjoyed our time together, sobbing in each other's arms.

samuel and i were walking to the smoothie place that we work at.
" let me carry your bag. you look like your shoulders are dying. " he says, pulling the bag off of me.
" thanks. " i say, skipping ahead.
but as soon as i started getting farther and farther from him, i chose to slow down a bit.
i turned around to look for the boy, but ended up bumping into another person.
the person fell to the ground, groaning while holding his body.
i gasped, immediately squatting down to help him up.
we were wearing the same uniforms, surprisingly. his uniform read 'park woojin'.
i chuckled to myself thinking about my small friend 'lee woojin'.
" i'm really sorry. " i say, pulling him off of the ground.
" it's alright. your name is... haeun? i've never seen you before... but i guess since we go to the same school... see you around? " he says, looking down at my uniform before walking off.
i bow and find samuel who was catching up to me.
" dude! you completely abandoned me. " he says, hitting my head.
" oops. by the way, do you know a 'park woojin'? " i ask, going into the smoothie place.
" um... oh! yeah, daehwi, me, and him had a little dance competition in the dance room last school year. why? " he says, grabbing his work uniform from his backpack.
i grabbed my backpack from his hand and found my uniform as well.
" just... i bumped into him earlier. " i say.
" haha that's what you get for running away from samuel, the best person in the world! " he says, nudging my arm.
" lying isn't good for the heart. i'm gonna go and change so... be right back. " i say, walking into the shop's bathroom.
he glares at me as he walks to the men's room.
i chuckle, putting on the colorful uniform. it was nice having a friend like him... just to mess around with.
leaving the restroom, i grabbed our backpacks and went into the staff room.
putting the bags down in the corner, i checked samuel and i in and started working.
he finally walked out of the bathroom, dusting the shirt off.
" what took you so long? i signed you in already, by the way. " i say, leaning on the counter. the shop was pretty empty for it just opened awhile ago and isn't too well-known yet.
" it takes awhile to look this great, haeun. you will never understand. " he says, ruffling my hair.
i glared at him, punching his shoulder.
a customer then came in, pulling out her wallet from her backpack.
" welcome to 'the smoothie shop'! please take your time to order. " i say, chuckling a bit as i looked down at the cash register. samuel and i always made jokes about how the smoothie place we work at is literally called 'the smoothie shop'.
samuel then kicked my shin.
" ouch! " i whisper-yell, elbowing him in the stomach.
" haeun? samuel? " the girl's voice rang in my ears.
i finally looked at the customer and... yup. it was sarang.
how awkward would it be to see the girl you slapped in the face at your work place? how awkward would it also be to see the girl you had feelings for but thought you were annoying at your work place?
" s-sarang? " i say, gulping a bit.
" well... 2 of your best smoothies please. " she says.
" h-huh? o-oh! alright! coming right up! " i say, bumping into samuel as we tried to make the most popular smoothie that this shop makes.
as soon as we made them, i handed the two cups to her as samuel passed her a few straws and napkins.
she smiled and thanked us. grabbing out a sticky note from her bag and sticking it on the cup, she left a smoothie there on the counter as she began to walk out.
" um... miss-- i mean, sarang! you forgot this. " i say.
she chuckles.
" it's for him. "
she left the shop as samuel and i stared at the door, wide-eyed.
" wh-what? " samuel says, grabbing the smoothie.
i was still shocked.
" it says, 'i didn't know how much you meant to me until a little friend of mine smacked some sense into me. meet me at the roof of the school tomorrow? ;)' " he mumbles, putting the drink down.
i looked at him and pinched him.
" thanks... i was about to ask you to do that... but this isn't a flipping dream! she likes me! " he says, picking me up from the ground into a hug.
" holy tomatoes! put me down! " i say, wiggling my body out of his arms.
" now you can't make fun of me for not having a girlfriend. " he says, letting me go as he goes to assist a customer who just walked in.
" if you forget about your friends because of that girl, you are going to get a beating. "
