Chapter 29 :

"Dobby is here to help....." Dobby goes silent as soon as he sees Lucius Malfoy, his old master. He had tortured Dobby and has always insulted him. But Dobby was pure of heart, a noble soul. He may dislike his previous owner but he cannot hate or loathe anybody for that instance. Dobby loved serving Mrs Malfoy and Master Draco. They were good to Dobby. They used to treat Dobby nicely. Mrs Malfoy never shouted on Dobby, she was very polite to Dobby and so was Master Draco. He still feel indebted to them.

Lucius Malfoy was beyond shock, seeing Dobby and hearing his words. The only question in his mind right now was, whether he would help him?
If he was of sound mind he would never help him. As he left no chance to torture (beating) and insulting Dobby, while he served him. Lucius Malfoy today, could only see Dobby as his ray of hopes.

"Dobby" said Mr Malfoy, with a very soft and calm voice. Dobby was intensely watching him, as if he has gone mad. This was the very first time that he addressed him with politeness. Dobby was very confused, he looked over to Dumbledore for explaination.

"Dobby, will you help The Malfoy's ?" asked Dumbledore. As soon as his words left, Dobby stiffened, he was battling with himself. What should he do ?? Lucius Malfoy has always been on the bad side. He supports The Dark Lord and have put many innocent lives in great peril. He very well remembers, how Harry Potter was nearly killed in the second year and poor muggleborns were petrified. It was all because of Lucius Malfoy and that stupid Diary of The Dark Lord. But on the other hand, he saw the innocent face of Mrs Malfoy and a naive Draco. He had served the Malfoys since the day Lucius got married and Lady Malfoy has always been humble to him and so was Master Draco, he was soft from inside but because of his father he use to wear the mask of cruelty.

"Dobby" said Lucius Malfoy with gentleness. Dobby was snapped out from his thoughts. He looked at the changed man infront of him and wondered why he has changed.
"Dobby, I know that I have been very cruel to you in my past. Also that I have done lots of unforgivable crimes under the order of The Dark Lord. I know I'm not worthy of your help. But please, Cissy needs you. Her life is in danger. The Dark Lord will kill her soon. I'm no longer a supporter of Dark Lord, I have realized it very late, but I can't risk my family's life just because of my stupid mistakes. Please help me Dobby. Please! " pleaded Lucius Malfoy.

Dobby was awestruck. Never ever in his life he had dreamed to see his old master pleading him. And what about Lady Malfoy, why is The Dark Lord behind her??What do they mean by, her life is in danger??

All the others in the room were patiently waiting for Dobby's reply.....
