Chapter 41 :

Both Harry and Draco were taken back. Harry patted his back, trying to console him. Both of them wondered, how they were arch enemies before and now everything was just so opposite. Apart from Blaise, Draco had never hugged anybody, but he felt good when he didn't push him back. Hermione who was watching this scene had a wide smile on her lips.

"You know, both of you have so much in common." said Hermoine, breaking the awkward silence in the room. Harry was confused while Draco raised his eyebrows, "How?" they both said in unison, making Hermione giggle more.
"See, you guys think alike" she teased them. Sly smile was forming on their lips.
"You both love Quidditch, also you love to insult each other all the time and both of you suck in transfusion and your lives have been already decided by others action." she said, laying emphasis on the last words.

"Well, Malfoy I don't think you are that bad" Harry said hesitated, this was difficult for him but he was willing to give him a chance.
"Feelings are mutual Potter" he shot back, making Hermoine and Harry to snicker.
"And Granger, I don't bloody suck at Transfusion, I'm not best at it but I'm way to better than Weasel" he said in a mocking tone, making both Harry and Hermione chuckle.

"Err.... I wanted to say something...." Draco said in hesitation. Both of them nodded, Draco took a deep breath, "I wanted to apologise. I have been a thickhead in the past. I have always insulted you guys, and put you in trouble. I regret everything I have done in last. Bloody hell, I know I don't deserve your forgiveness but........ And (he looked into Hermione's eyes) believe me Granger, I was made to believe that Muggle- born are inferior... I'm so ashamed of myself for calling you few unforgivable words... I don't know, my whole life has been a lie. I was made to believe in the wrong things. I'm so bloody done with prejudiced beliefs. I truly apologise for all my actions." he said fidgeting his fingers, he dared not look into their eyes, he felt so guilty to face them.

"Dra.. Malfoy, we all make mistakes, but what matters is when we actually make efforts to correct it. I know how hard this is for you, to put your pride aside and apologize to us. I really appreciate this New Malfoy. I forgive you. Trust me, I know you have been a pain in arse in the past 5 years but today I see a MAN, I have seen the naive, arrogant evil little coacokrach turn into a strong, intellectual, humble man. Malfoy men tend to be hard on the exterior but they are really soft on the interior." said Hermoine, putting a hand on his shoulder. Harry chuckled at her last words 'Soft Malfoy Men'

"Thank you Granger, I'm really grateful for your forgiveness. I promise that I won't be the same old Draco Malfoy- the evil little coacokrach, and please I'm not soft on the interior, though my skin is very soft that every girl falls down at my feet." he said chuckling.

Both Hermoine and Harry groaned. "Malfoy, I forgive you too. But I think we have to maintain the 'I hate you and you hate me' act so that people won't suspect. And well we wanted to have your help." said Harry glancing over to Hermione. "Oh yes, we completely forgot about it." she said pressing her hand on her temple.
They then explained Draco about Prof Trelawney's disappearance.
"So do you suspect, anyone?" Hermione asked. Draco recalled today's events. He found something odd, like Pansy was not irritating today. She distanced herself from him. He also saw her waiting after Transfusion lecture. That was damn odd, she hates Transfusion, but then it clicked his mind.

"Pansy" was all he could say. He gritted his teeth and clenched his jaw.

"I know where Prof Trelawney is." said Draco.
