Chapter 60:

Hermione gracefully walked down towards the common room, to find it all dark. She scrunched her eyebrows in confusion.
Where can everyone be at this hour?

She takes out her wand to cast "Lumos", but suddenly someone grabbed her hand and pulled her towards the centre of the room.

"SURPRISE!!!!!!"

Fred and George lit up the entire common room with small crackers, Luna sends beautiful blue butterflies towards Hermoine, at the same time Colin Creevey clicks her picture, in the muggle camera.

Ginny and Harry place her birthday cake infront of the table.

"Aww, you guys..." Hermoine said but is interrupted by the twins.

"You won't say that darling, after we do this.." said Fred with an evil glint matching his twins.

The twins move towards Hermoine and pull her head down towards the cake, at the same time, being the brightest witch of her generation, Hermoine quickly conjures a plate and places it upon the cake. The twins let out a laugh, but when Hermoine looked up, the twins were shocked to see no remains of cake on her face.

She then revealed the plate that she conjured and laughed out loud. Ginny, Harry and Ron were hysterically laughing at the twins shocked faces.

"Blimey, Mione. That was SAVAGE!!!" said Ron.

"Oh dear Freddy and Georgyy..." teased Ginny.

"I just can't believe this Fred! She outsmarted us!!!!"

"Hermione, you sure you belong to Gryffindor? You should be in Ravenclaw!!" said Fred, awed by her intelligence.

"And are you sure you both belong to Gryffindor? I think you bribed the sorting hat, you guys should be in Slytherin!" Hermione gave an equally befitting reply, which made the twins to shut their mouth.

Seamus, Neville and Dean were laughing at twins, definitely only Hermoine Granger can handle the twin's madness and craziness.

"Now, it's time to cut the cake!!!" said Ginny.

Hermione blows the candles and cuts the cake.
"Happy birthday to you, Happy birthday dear Hermoine, happy birthday to you"

Colin Creevey captures all the beautiful moments of her 16th birthday, in his muggle camera.

Fred and George are planning a revenge for Hermoine, though they both know nothing's gonna work on her...

Ron is busy stuffing cake, and Ginny is hitting Ron for his table manners!

Harry pulls Hermoine into a brotherly hug, "Happy birthday, Mione. You look beautiful"

"Thank you Harry. I loved this surprise."

"Won't take credit for that, it was Ginny's idea, she'll kill me if you thought it was mine." Harry fakes fear.

Hermione laughs heartedly.

"Its time for the gifts!" said an excited Ginny.

Harry pulls out a gift from his pocket and hands it over to Hermoine.

"Oh my god, Harry!! Where did you get this from? It's the recent model of fountain pen!! It must have cost you alot!! Wait, how did you know that I love these pens?"

"Calm down Mione, you see my girlfriend is very observant, she saw you using those pens over summer. I thought this would be the best gift for our brightest witch" said Harry.

Ginny clears her throat, "Ahem, Ahem!! It was our idea!!!"

Hermione giggles, "I love you both so much. Thank you for this surprise. The gift is very beautiful."

Neville, Seamus and Dean approached Hermoine and wished her. All three of them bought her a limited edition novel by author  Nigel Flamel.

Luna lovegood gifted Hermoine a beautiful shell stone. The shell was very uniquely designed, it gave her a warm feeling of home.

Hermione had to roll her eyes at Ron and the twins who gifted her a broomstick. According to them, she should play as a seeker for Gryffindor and replace Harry permanently, to which Harry objected. "It was only for one time! I'm the seeker of Gryffindor!!"

"Yeah, yeah but not for so long!" Ginny teased her boyfriend.

Hermione thoroughly enjoyed the day, with her friends cum family.

"And by the way, Harry. Thank you for this beautiful gown. I love this"

"Mione, I did not gift you the gown."

"What? Then who did?"
