Chapter 43 :

At Hogwarts :

Hermione and Harry were carrying Prof Trelawney to her office. Something was really off Hermione. Harry looked at her best friend with concern, "Mione, are you alright? You seem so off after Malfoy left."

Hermione stiffened at hearing Malfoy's name. Anger was brewing inside her. She felt betrayed. Was she jealous? But she has recently called truce with Malfoy. She can't be falling for him. No wait, she is a Mudblood , why would anyone like The Malfoys- Purebloods give a damn about her feelings. She was just a scum under their feet. She has to maintain her distance with Malfoy, she can't get close to him. Ahhh, this hurts alot, she thought to herself.

"Mione, you there?" Harry asked her waving his hand.

"Sorry Harry, I was thinking about reporting this to Prof McGonagall."

Harry looked like he was about to faint, "Why? Besides we will get into trouble! We'll get detention. Look at the time Mione, its half past eleven ! McGonagall would kill us! " said Harry

Hermione rolled her eyes, "Harry, this is absolutely dangerous okay? What if Pansy does this kind of act again. Damn, she used unforgivable on a teacher, she kidnapped her Harry! We have to report this to Prof McGonagall. She can atleast keep a check on her and rest of the Slytherin's. I don't mind getting detention for breaking the rules! We did it on good intention and I don't regret it at all!" she said proudly.

Harry was taken back, he blinked twice before answering but he finally sighed and accepted his defeat. "I'm proud of you Mione. You think about others well being, before thinking about yourself. And you are always so logical with your reasoning. I'm ready to serve detention as long as Malfoy also gets it. Why should we Griffindor face it alone? Some Slytherin company won't harm."

Hermoine's lips twitched upwards in a small smile. They reached Prof McGonagall room on the way, "Harry ,we should knock her door. Before going to Madam Pompfrey I think McGonagall should know this matter." she said in a mere whisper.

Harry nodded and knocked the door twice, "Hermoine, it's like we are inviting our death" in a hush voice. Hermione smirked in response.

Prof McGonagall opened the door, her eyes nearly bulged out from their sockets, "What in the world are you doing at my doorstep at this hour? Miss Granger and Mr Potter? (Her eyes then meet Prof Trelawney's weak body, she let out a gasped) Oh my god! What happened to Prof Trelawney??"

"Professor, sorry to interrupt, but can we discuss this matter inside your room." Harry whispered calmly.

Prof McGonagall gave them a calculating look, "Come in"

After placing Prof Trelawney on her bed, she looked at Hermoine and Harry for explaination. They both told them how Harry saw Prof Trelawney with her and then he informed Hermione about this. And how Draco Malfoy helped them. Prof McGonagall was extremely shocked upon hearing their new truce with Malfoy. But more shocking news was about Pansy Parkinson.

"I cannot believe that Miss Parkinson is capable of doing something like this. It is absolutely horrendous. I'll get her expelled!" she hissed

A part of Hermoine was very happy about Pansy being expelled but another part made her worry, "Prof... If you expell Pansy, we wouldn't know what her next plan will be. Plus, I'm sure there are other Slytherin's too whose parents are involved with the Dark Lord. We can get information out of them, by monitoring their moves. And I'm sure Draco Malfoy can be a great help to us." she said rubbing her temple.

Harry's mouth was wide open, he looked at Prof McGonagall who had same expression as his, "Prof, I can trust Malfoy. If it wasn't his help we couldn't get Prof Trelawney back. After all we know that Pansy is dumb, but she can also be very cunning, like the way she used your hair for Polyjuice potion." he said

"You are right Miss Granger, and Mr Potter. I'm very impressed with your presence of mind. I know both of you and Mr Malfoy have broken rules, but I may let you go this time. Please do not repeat this again, it can be dangerous. You should immediately inform me or Prof Dumbeldore, rather than risking your lives. I shall discuss this matter with Prof Dumbeldore and one more thing, your new truce with Mr Malfoy should be a secret. If anyone gets to know this, it will be risky for Mr Malfoy and for you too. I hope I'm clear." she said

Both Harry and Hermione nodded.

"Don't worry about Prof Trelawney, I'll heal her with the help of Madam Pompfrey. You should head for your dormitory before your friends find you missing. Goodnight and be careful." said Prof McGonagall

"Goodnight Professor" they said in unison.
