Chapter 27: Blessing

Leo's POV

"Sir, I would like to have your blessing to Marry Mia." Carson says as we sip our coffee from a nearby coffee shop. It had been almost two years since they started dating.

And even after Carson found out Mia was a mutant. He loved her still the same.

I nearly choke on my coffee and I start coughing as I quickly swallow.

"You wanna- *cough* *cough* marry Mia? *cough cough*"

He nods and I throw my drink out as I control my breathing. "Hold on.." I mumble as I sit on a bench.

I could barely suppress my shock and joy.

"I'm so sorry.. this is all a little too much for me.." I take a deep breath and smile at Carson. "Carson you are a wonderful young man. You treat Mia with Love and Respect and love her for who she is, of course you have my blessing to Marry Mia."

He beams and cheers before doing a little dance and shaking my hand vigorously. "Thank you so much Mr. Hamato! I will love her with my whole heart until I die." He says.

I smile at him, "Well better get going, you have my daughter to propose to."

"Of course! I have to go get a ring! Thanks again! I will text you the details of the proposal tonight!"

I smile and nod as he runs off. He was worthy enough for my princess.

Mia's POV

Dad and my uncles were acting strange, including grandpa. Whenever they saw me they would pat me on the back proudly and smile wide.

I mean yes, our family does weird things all the time but this is the weirdest anyone has gotten.

And that's saying a lot.

I sit on the couch reading a book as I wait for Carson. He said he had a surprise tonight and to be ready by seven.

So I was currently waiting for him.

All of a sudden my Father jumps on the couch. "So, what are you and Carson doing tonight?" He asks with a big smile.

I look at him over the rim of my book curiously, "I don't know Dad. He said it was a surprise."

He smiles wider and lays back on the pillow.

And as if on cue my uncles and Grandpa come out just as Carson arrives.

"Hey Mia, you ready?" Carson asks, dressed in a blue plaid shirt and a pair of jeans.

I nod and smile before glancing back at my family one more time. They grin and wave me off. After tonight they were so gonna get the interrogation of their life.

I straighten my watch and twist it onto my human form. Feeling the familiar buzz my body changes to fit my clothes.

I smile at Carson and he frowns as we walk out.

"Is something wrong? Do I look bad?" I ask nervously, suddenly thinking the worst.

He laughs a little and shakes his head. "No Mia, its just.." gently grabbing my wrist with the watch he twists it to turn it off and I change back into my normal form. "I would love to have you in your normal form for our date tonight. Your beautiful and I want you to feel comfortable around me in any form."

I smile and hug him. "Your the best boyfriend ever. I hope you know that.."

He hugs me back and after a few moments he let's go. "Now let's go! I bet your dying to know what the surprise is, knowing you." He says taking my hand and leading me to the manhole cover.
