After the incident of dropping hundreds of bottles of mutagen all over New York, Leo goes out one night to find some more and collect it for Donnie.
But instead he finds something else.
A little baby girl.

The clock ticked away echoing throughout my room. My pillow was stained with silent tears and I had my bag ready next to my door. Dad would be back from patrol at 1 and he would go to bed at 2 so that's when I would leave.
Tick tick is all I heard as I stared at the clock. It was a minute till one and as the second passed twelve turning the clock to one I hurriedly got under the covers.
Sure enough the sound of my father and uncles returning echoed through the lair. They all say goodnight and I hear my father coming to my door. I clasp my eyes shut and pretend I'm asleep.
The door opens I hear a sigh and footsteps coming to my bed.
And then I feel a kiss on my forehead and hear the footsteps walking out.
As the door shuts I slowly sit up and stare at the clock again. It was almost time.
**Time Skip**
The hour hand finally reached 2 a.m and I could hear the snores of Uncle Mikey and Raph from my room.
Silently creeping out of my room with my bag I shut my door with the skills I had learned from Grandpa so far.
It shut without any noise and I smiled at my victory. Now I had to get past Uncle Don's Lair.
The light shone through from his lair and spread across the darkened stone in the living room.
He hummed along to a song he listened to from his T-Pod and kept adding different mixtures to mutagen. He was definitely consumed in his work.
So I quickly but quietly ran to the lair's entrance.
Hopping over the rails I take one last look at my home. The pendant Dad had given me for my birthday still hung around my neck and I gently took it off setting it on the rails to the lair.

"Goodbye.." I mutter before running off into the subway tunnels.
**Time Skip**
Leo's POV
I awoke to my alarm clock going off. Reaching over I shut it off and rub my eyes before fully adjusting to being awake.
My first thought came to my mind. Mia, I hoped she still wasn't mad at me.
So I got out of bed and made my way to Mia's Room. It was 10 so she should be up. I knock and sigh. "Mia? Princess are you awake? I'm coming in." I say. Turning the nob I look in the dark room. The sheets weren't made and Mia wasn't there.
My gut had a bad feeling in it but I pushed it aside. "She's probably eating breakfast.." I say taking a deep breath and going to the kitchen. But walking in I saw Mia no where to be found. Splinter and all my brothers were there but not Mia. "Guys, have you seen Mia? she's not in her room."
They shake there heads and my bad feeling increased. Something was definitely wrong.
I run out to the living room and look for any clue of Mia's presence.
Something gleamed out of the corner of my eye and I ran to it. My eyes widened as I clutched the precious item. "Mia!" I yell.
Her pendant clutched in my hand I grab my weapons as my family comes out to see what's wrong. "Leonardo what is wrong?" My father asks.
"Mia! She ran away! What if she's hurt? Or lost? What if the Kranng get to my baby girl?" I say starting to hyperventilate. He puts a hand on my shoulder and leads me to the Couch. "We will all call April and Casey. They will look for her since it's daytime and if they don't find her we'll all go out tonight." He says.
I instantly jump up. "Sensei I need to go now. My daughter is out in a world that will not accept a mutant turtle." I say. He looks at me with sad eyes.
"I know my son. But as a father you need to think of the consequences. If you go out there now you could risk your safety and Mia's."
I punch Raph's punching bag and hang my head in my hands.
"Well I'm at least gonna go look in the sewers." I say getting up.
My brothers follow and Splinter nods. "I'll stay here in case she comes back."
Mia's POV
A rat scurried by and I jumped a little.
The thought of going back burned in my mind but I kept pushing it out. I couldn't go back now I've already come this far.
Tears lined my eyes but I wouldn't let them fall. If you were on your own you had to be tough.
Leo's POV
We came to four tunnels and I turned to my brothers. "Alright we're gonna split up. If you find her call all of us and we'll meet back here." I say.
They all nod and we begin the hunt down our tunnels.
**Time Skip**
The pendant was warm in my hand as I looked in every nook and cranny. "Mia!" I call out every now and then. She probably heard me multiple of times but never wanted to respond.
I sigh and tears threaten to spill.
So I take a break and sit in the pipe staring at the pendant I had given her.
But I guess I couldn't hold them back for long. My tears soon spilled. And I sobbed thinking of how I failed Mia.
"Mia.. I'm so sorry.." I mumble.
Mia's POV
As I'm walking I pass a pipe and hear a sound.
Stopping, I stick my head into the tunnel and listen. Sobs could be heard along with an occasional mumbling.
Wondering what was happening I got in the tunnel and started walking down to the crying person.
Leo's POV
I sit there hanging my head and staring at the pendant.
But knowing I had to get back to searching for my princess I fixed myself up and was about to walk when I heard a can bang against the tunnel I was just sitting in.
I look and come face to face with Mia.
"Mia! Sweet mother of mutations.. are you hurt?" I ask hugging her.
She looks at me shocked. Before staring at my face. "Were.. you crying?" She asks.
I smile and just hug her. "Yes.. but that's not important, are you hurt?" I ask again. She shakes her head and a tear escapes. I wipe it away and she hugs me back.
"I'm sorry Daddy. I shouldn't have run away." She says. I hug her and start our way back to the meeting place, carrying her.
I call my brothers and tell them I found her. And as we near the meeting place I put her pendant back on. "Just don't run away ever again." I say kissing her forehead.
