"How does this work?" I ask. "I've only ever had a cast once, when I was three.." I say moving my bangs out of my face. "Don't worry, it won't hurt. Why did you have a cast?" He says smiling. "Uh.. Well... I fell... Off of a coffee table... My dog's tail hit me and I fell off... My parents didn't know it was broken until the next day, cause I didn't cry." I say chuckling to myself. "You fall a lot." He says laughing. "Yeah.. I'm a clutz. You never told me your name by the way." I say smiling. "Dr. Noah. You can call me Noah. Dr. sounds so formal." "Well, Noah, how long is this going to take? And how long do I have to have this cast on?" "We'll it's gonna take about 45 minutes to an hour and about 6 weeks." He says paying attention to my ankle. "Great. Am I going to have to be in a wheelchair, since it's broken and not sprang?" "Uh. Duh. After the first week, you can get crutches." He says making 😐 that face. "Ugh. That's gonna be fun trying to go to my room" I say to myself. I must've said it loud enough for him to hear. "Why?" He says looking up from my ankle. "My room is upstairs.. And my mom probably won't care that I broke my ankle." I say. "Oh. Um. Your friend could help you, possibly." "I'll probably just sleep downstairs and have my clothes downstairs for the 6 weeks." I say sighing. "How do I shower with this on?" I ask pointing to my ankle. "We'll talk about that after I get the cast on. What color do you want?" He says putting stuff on my leg. "Lilac." "Okay. Can you be quiet while I do that?" He says politely. "Yeah." I say looking down at my phone.
*1 hour later*
"Taking a shower isn't going to be fun, but you'll just have to put this thing over your cast. It's water proof, and it'll protect your cast." I grab the thing from his hand. "And obviously you won't be able to wear a shoe on your right foot." "It's okay. I usually wear vans so I can just wear one of those. Let me guess, I can't wear skinny jeans." I say moving in my chair. "You can, it'll just be hard getting them on and off." "Okay." I say smiling. He starts to roll me out of the room and to the elevator. We ride the elevator in silence. Val is waiting for me outside the elevator. "I can't go up to my room for 6 weeks." I say sighing. "That sucks. Sorry." She says making 😕 that face. "It's okay. Before we go to my house can we stop by the restaurant, I left my wallet there." "Uh. Yeah" she says smiling. She pushes me to the car and helps me into the passenger seat. She then puts the wheelchair in the back. We leave and go to Blackhorse.
