Chapter Thirteen: No One Needs to Know

***Embry's POV***

"Are you okay?" I asked as soon as I made it through the tent flaps. Sitting up on one of the little beds I saw Cedric with an orange goo covering the side of his face that I'd seen get burnt. Besides for the the orange substance he seemed perfectly fine and even smiled as I walked over to the bed he was on.

"I will be as soon as Madame Pomfrey removes this stuff, it smells awful." He made a face as I just rolled my eyes in response.

"So what's with the egg?" I glanced at the golden egg that was on the bed next to him. It was probably the size of my head and didn't really look any special except for the fact that it was golden.

"Dumbledore said that it held a clue to the next task but when I opened it a minute ago it just screamed bloody murder. I don't understand how it could be considered helpful." He furrowed his brows.

After that we just made small talk while we waited for Madame Pomfrey to come and remove the goo. Every time the flaps of the tent opened I'd look to check if it was her but I would only see Fleur and Viktor coming back from their duels with the dragon. Neither of them seemed harmed except for a few scratches and Fleur's skirt was singed a little. The third time the flaps opened though I jumped up and ran over to Harry as he came in. He looked exhausted but other than that and a few scratches he seemed to be in nearly perfect condition.

"How'd it go?" I pulled him into a hug.

"It didn't go as planned," he mumbled as I released him and looked at him, waiting for him to explain. "When I started flying the dragon's chain broke and I ended up flying to the castle and back to get it off my tail. I think it's safe to say that the castle's roof has some damages."

"I'm glad you're okay." I shook my head.

"There was something else." He spoke up again as I turned to go back over to Cedric. I looked back at him, waiting again. "Fred wanted to talk with you, now."

"Oh," I bit down on my lip. I knew what he wanted to talk about, it was the very reason why I'd been avoiding him since the confrontation with Draco the day Harry told Cedric about the dragons. He had to have heard what Draco had called me and if I was right and he did then he might be able to piece together the past that I'd been hiding from the Weasley's this past year.

"He's waiting outside, he said that he's not going to leave you alone until you two talk. He also said that he wanted to talk alone." Harry gave me an apologetic look as I felt Cedric's eyes boring into my back. I glanced over my shoulder to see him giving me a worried look.

"Will you be okay?" He asked.

"Yeah, just stay here. I'll be back in a minute." I assured him before slipping past Harry and out of the tent. Sure enough I found Fred standing there like Harry had said. As soon as he saw me his eyes locked with mine and nodded towards under the stands where I knew no one else was. I followed him until we reached the Gryffindor section and we slipped underneath. We both just stood there in silence, watching each other intently.

"Are you going to explain?" He broke the silence after almost five minutes.

"Explain what?" I raised a brow.

"Why Malfoy called you the same thing you told us to call you last summer when you showed up at our house bleeding!" He half whispered half yelled his words. "Why did he call you that?!"

"Based on your reaction I'm pretty sure you have an idea." I looked down at my feet as I kicked at the wilting grass.

"You're a Malfoy." It wasn't a question so I stayed silent, not sure what he wanted me to say. "Were they the reason why you were bleeding?"
