Chapter One: Hell of a Summer
***Embry's POV***
Three months. That close to how long I've been at the Weasley's house for the summer, a hell of a summer. Don't get me wrong, I love Molly, Arthur, Ginny, and all of them but it's just strange living in their house with someone you've come to hate. A.k.a George Weasley.
We became such good friends last summer when I ran away from Malfoy Manor and came here but then things I happened. By that I mean that I started dating Cedric Diggory and George became a git about it. I still haven't forgiven him for what he said after I woke up in the hospital wing and he found me in Lupin's classroom. I can still hear him yelling at me and saying that Cedric would dump me when he saw my new scars and that I was stupid to think otherwise. Cedric had been fine about the jagged scars that covered the left side of my face, it was George that seemed to have a problem with them.
So all summer I've avoided him and we haven't shared a word with each other since that fight, nearly seven months ago. Instead I've kept busy hanging out with Ginny and Ron or helping Molly out around the house. I wanted to talk with Fred but he was always with George so that wasn't an option. Molly and Arthur must have realized that something was up since I didn't talk to George anymore but neither of them questioned me about it. I think that was because Ginny told them what happened seeing as how I heard Molly yelling at George one day while Ginny and I were trying to play chess.
Her yelling didn't change anything though, I still refused to speak with George and he never tried to speak with me anyways. It didn't matter though, today Harry would be coming for the World Cup which is tomorrow and Hermione would be here in the morning.
"Is everyone ready?" Arthur called out from the living room. He was supposed to be taking Ron and the twins with him by floo powder to get Harry from his aunt and uncle's house and then Harry would stay here for the last week of summer.
"Ready dad," Ron nodded as Arthur stepped into the fireplace and said Harry's address before disappearing into the green flames. I watched as Ron did the same and then so did the twins before I went back into the kitchen where Ginny and Molly were. Percy was stuck up in his room working on something since he was interning or something with the Ministry.
"They gone?" Molly asked as I sat next to Ginny at the table.
"Yeah," I nodded before taking a sip of my tea that she'd made each of us. "When will they be back?"
"Shouldn't be too long," Molly read over a copy of the Daily Prophet. "When they get back though I'll want all of you off to bed. You'll be having an early start in the morning-" She was cut off by an owl flying through an open window and landing in front of me on the table. It was a familiar brown owl with yellow eyes that I'd seem a lot this summer and I couldn't help but smile. I took the letter from him and it read:
Lu,
Sorry for not responding to your last letter until now but I haven't had time to write in the past few days. I'm glad to hear that you passed all of your OWLs, I told you that you could do it!
I can't wait to see you tomorrow at the World Cup (hopefully you'll be decked out in green for the Irish). Tell Ginny and the others that I say hello, except for George seeing as how you still won't speak to him.
Have sweet dreams,
Cedric
I smiled as I finished reading the letter. I grabbed a piece of parchment and a quill and quickly wrote him a reply and sent his owl off into the setting sun. I closed the window just as I heard someone return through the fireplace in the living room and saw that it was Fred and George with Harry's trunk. Not long after that came Ron and Harry with Harry's owl Hedwig.
"Did he eat it?" Fred asked Harry as soon as he stepped out of the fireplace.
"Yeah, what was it?" Harry nodded.
"Our latest product-" George began.
"Ton Tongue Toffees, grows your tongue out." Fred finished as Arthur appeared with his face as red as his hair and a frown in place. I knew things wouldn't end well so I quickly slipped up the stairs and into Ginny's room before flopping down on the mattress next to her bed. From downstairs I could hear Arthur lecturing the twins while someone ran upstairs and I guessed it was Ron and Harry. When I finally started drifting off to sleep it was to the sound of Molly's yelling.
