Monday came around quick and I wasn't ready for school. But I got my things and left out to leave anyways. I grabbed an apple and went outside with Ryan.

Listen Kiem mom just died last night. Take me to his house and you can take my car to school. Ryan said sadly. My heart just shattered. Ms. Martin been suffering from cancer for the last 10 years after they told her she wasn't gonna live past 3 months when they first told her. I can't imagine what Kiems going through right now.

Damn for real.?

Yeah man shit sick.! This nigga goin crazy.

I bet wow. I got in the driver seat and pulled off heading to his house. I parked the car and we both got out. I just wanted to check on him too. We went in and Kiem was sitting on the couch smoking weed and drinking. He had this devilish look on his face that scared the shit out of me. I can tell he wasn't gone be the same ever again.

Ryan took the bottle of Henny out his hands and put the blunt out. Kiem was doing so good not smoking or drinking. Trying to get ready to go off to college after graduation to play football. He didn't have any family, the only person he had was Ryan.  When they where 13 they kilt Kiems father beating on Kiems mom and almost killing Kiem. No one knew that secret but me. That's why they where so protective of each other.

You okay.? I asked him sitting next to him. Tears just rolled down his face.

Rae just go to school.! Ryan said giving me that look. I got up to leave, it was so hard seeing him like this. I wanted to hug and hold him and let him know it was gone be okay. I pulled into my parking spot and sat there for a while. It's crazy how life worked out. He loved his mom to death and now she's gone. I just know me and Ryan have to be there for him in anyway possible.

I went all day with Kiem on my mind. I was gonna stop by over there after school but it was a couple of bitches going in and out the house. I didn't wanna be apart of that. I'll just ask Ryan how he's doing when he gets home from work. I started to make dinner. Mya and Nia came over sat, talked, and ate with me. I loved having girl company. Mya was my bestfriend and we was always together. It's like she damn near lived with me. Nia was her older cousin, she was cool as hell too when she came around. I told them what happened to Kiem mom and they where devastated. Especially Mya she started crying.

I wanna do something to cheer him up.! I said putting my plate in the dish washer.

Like what.!? Nia asked sitting up.

I don't know, something.!

How bout just cook him dinner and just be around him. Mya suggested.

How Ima do that.? Ryan gonna be around him 24/7.!

Well he has a date next week after Sharese party.

I heard him telling Kiem.

Oh, well I might do it than.!
