A lot of you may be confused as to what happened to Devyn. Just to be clear everything that happened since she woke up was a dream she was having when she was still in a coma. She finally woke up when she slammed the red button next to her bed. She began to have a seizure and the nurse was trying to save her along with Dr. Allison. The 3 emergency syringes failed so Dr. Allison demanded that she get a rare medicine that will numb her and slowly calm the pain and that will help her breathe. By the time the nurse got there she was too late and Devyn passed away.

{NURSES POV}

I walked out of the room and towards my desk. I dialed the Dinevalli's resident and waited for someone to answer.

"Hello?" I heard a young voice say from the other line.

"Hi this is Rebecca from Primary Children's Hospital. Is your mom or dad there?"

"Mom its the hospital!" He screamed into the phone.

"Hello?" I heard an older woman this time.

"Hello is this Jennifer Dinevalli?" I asked.

"Yes." She responded.

"Hi this is Rebecca from Primary Children's." My eyes started to water.

"I-I am afraid your daughter Devyn passed away no longer than 15 minutes ago." I paused and the silence through the phone made it more devastating.

"We have to send her down to the morgue later this afternoon. You are more than welcome to come and visit her. I am so sorry."

I hung up and looked at the picture of my family on the computer screen. It's hard to lose a loved one. I picked up my pen and clicked it uncontrollably.

I walked down to the waiting room where a young man around Devyn's age was sitting.

"Sam?" I poked my head around the corner.

He looked up from his phone and there was desperation in his eyes.

"I would like you to come with me." I declared.

He followed behind me down the halls and into Devyn's room.

"She passed about 20 minutes ago."

I looked at her body. The syringe was still injected near her heart. Still hoping for one last breath but by this time it was hopeless.

"I will leave you."

I walked out of the room and waited for Sam to do what he felt he needed to do.

He walked out of the room. You could see fear and anger in his eyes just looking for someone to blame. He walked up to me and stared into my eyes.

"You did your best. It just wasn't good enough." He planted his hands in his pockets and walked away.

A tear slipped from my eye. I would have wiped it away but I let him down. I let her family down. That was a burden I had to live with.

A few minutes later the Dinevalli family showed up. I ran up to them and escorted them to her room. Their eyes were red. I tried to explain.

"She woke up about 10:27 this morning. She slammed the red button by her bed and when I got there she was having a seizure. I appointed Dr. Allison about the situation and I injected 3 syringes into her arms-"

"Whats the syringe in her heart?" Their older son interrupted.

"It was the only way we could get her to breathe. When you are done here we will be sending her to the morgue."

I walked out of the room and left them alone. I sat at my desk waiting for them to finish when someone walked up to me. I looked up to see Dr. Allison standing before me.

"Don't stress about it. It happens. We can't help it." He stated.

It's true. I'm over thinking this too much and its a natural thing. We can't help what comes and goes through this hospital but the best we can do is make sure everyone is safe.

I nodded and wiped the tears from my eyes.

Devyn's family walked out. Her mom shoved the boys in front of her and both her and her husband walked towards me.

"Thank you for taking care of her." She smiled and took my hand.

"You did what you could."

They left me sitting there wondering what I could have done. A figure stood in front of me. I looked up and saw Sam.

"I'm having trouble processing. Can I see her one last time. Help me understand."

I took him to Devyn's room and told him exactly what I told her family.

"She woke up about 10:27 this morning. She slammed the red button by her bed and when I got there she was having a seizure. I appointed Dr. Allison about the situation and I injected 3 syringes into her arms and the last one near her heart. That was the only possible way we could get her to breath."

I stood at the doorway as he walked towards her and took her hand. It was sad to see someone so hurt.

{SAMS POV}

"I love you Devyn. I never meant to hurt you. All I wanted to do was give you my love. You're everything I have ever wanted."

I kissed her forehead.

{NURSES POV}

I pulled Sam away from Devyn. He stood behind me as I grabbed the sheet to pull over the remainder of her body.

Right then and there was the biggest miracle. I had just witnessed something that I had never thought was humanly or physically possible.
