I am so sorry I haven't updated. I have had a lot going on so I don't have much time. Sorry this chapter is short but I will be posting a long one tomorrow.

"Is friends out of the question?" He asked.

I stared deeply into his eyes and shut them tightly.

"Sam. I feel like i'm letting you down and-"

"You aren't! I understand why you don't want to be with me but I don't want to lose you-" He paused.

"I can't lose you."

The words sank in deeply. I only knew 3 things. James is an abuser, i'm in Valencia, and I don't have a memory of anything. I wasn't ready to start my life with someone who I barely knew.

"Friends." I whispered.

"Friends." He whispered back.

We sat there in a moment of silence until Rebecca walked in to give me some shots and take my blood pressure.

"How are you Sam?" She looked at him while checking my blood pressure.

"I'm better." He answered.

"Well that's good!" She smiled and turned back to me to take the strap off of my arm.

"Are you hungry at all?" She slid some gloves on.

"Yeah i'll order in about an hour." I responded.

"Ok." She said and gave me the two shots in my arm before walking out.

"You don't have to eat this disgusting hospital food." Sam started.

"I can get you something you're craving."

"It's fine." I pulled my blanket closer to my chest.

"C'mon what do you want?"

"Huh well I kind of want Carls Jr.." I chuckled.

"Out of anything in Valencia you want Carls Jr.?" He laughed at me.

"Well yeah. Get me some fries and the Bacon Western Cheeseburger." I giggled.

"Oh and a sprite."

"It's getting chilly in here." I pronounced.

"Yeah it is." He got up and wrapped the blanket from the chair around me.

"I'll be back." He smiled as he walked out.

While he was gone I grabbed the release forms from my bedside. I scanned over them to pass the time.

"The hospital security sucks." I heard a familiar voice.

I struggled to look up because I knew who it was, James.

"Couldn't stay away." He claimed as he walked closer.

"You won't hurt me." I nodded my head.

"Hmmm."

"I think we both know what I'm capable of." He grinned.

"What do you want?!" My eyes tearing up.

"You." He pronounced.

"I'm with someone." I said.

"I think we both know that's not true." He reached his hand under the bed.

He pulled out a tape recorder. I stared at it for a couple of seconds.

"HE-" I tried crying for help until he placed his hand tightly around my mouth.

"Let's get one thing straight. We both know what I'm capable of and I won't stop until I get what I want. You know that and I know that. You won't call the police and you can't call the police. That's one of your fears, hurting someone else. Good luck." He whispered into my ear.

I inhaled as much breath as I could before exhaling. He walked out of the room leaving me speechless of the situation. My eyes grew red as tears submerged.
