"I'm serious," Sam says. "How did it all happen? The last thing I know, you've punched Luke because both of you are so mad with each other. Then next second, you were telling me that Luke was just randomly at your house. Then after that, you've told me he had never talked to you again and next thing, Calum was telling me that Luke will spend a night in your house and now, Luke will be your prom date and he even took you out in a date just for you to say yes."
I playfully roll my eyes. "It wasn't a date. It was more like an effort of him."
"Then it was a date." She says, nodding.
I chuckle. "Whatever, Samantha."
"But I'm confused." She says, crossing her arms. "What are you guys now? I don't want to start a fight if you'll get mad at me again for saying this but are you guys friends now?"
I bite my bottom lip as I look away. I definitely know Luke and I are friends now. When I'm with him, it feels like it's okay. I'm okay with being friends with Luke, but when we're not together, I don't know what's up with me, but it's always hard for me to say to other people that we're friends now.
I take a deep breath then look back to Sam. "Yes. We're actually friends now."
"I told you." She grins. "Luke isn't that bad."
I shrug as I put some fries in my mouth. "I hope so."
"Anyway," She says and I know she's about to change the topic which I'm thankful. Yes, I'm finally okay with being friends with Luke, but I don't want to spend my whole day talking about it. "Since there is a prom then there would be a cotillion and the theme for the cotillion this year is waltz and your dance partner would be automatically your prom date. The first practice will be on Wednesday after class."
I nod. "Okay. So, you're going with Calum, I guess?"
She pouts and sighs. "No, actually."
I furrow my eyebrow in confusion as I lean closer to her. "What? Why?"
She looks at me for a few seconds then finally rolls her eyes. "Yes, of course, I'm going with him!"
I slap her arm. "You're such a dick."
Luke's POV
"I still don't have a prom date." Michael fakes a pout as we sit on our normal table at lunch.
I roll my eyes at him. "You know it will only take you one question for any girls in this school for them to say yes."
Calum laughs. "It is because it took Caroline one date before she said yes to you."
I smirk as I raise up my middle finger to him. Personally, I can't believe that I actually did an effort so she will just say yes to me. I know to myself that any girl in this school will be willing to go to the prom with me. What has gotten into my head? I don't even know.
I hate her a lot. I always want to remind myself that because I'm not an idiot to don't notice that I'm starting to go soft on her and I don't want to be so attached to her. Right, she's beautiful, she's kind and starting also to be quite nice to me, but this isn't part of my plan in the first place.
All I wanted to do that day I met her was to stay away from her as much as possible because seriously, she annoyed the shit out of me back then.
The way my charms don't affect her at all. It always gets on my nerves back then. I bet it's just I'm not used to seeing girls freaking out once I get closer to them. Call me arrogant but it's just part of my nature.
"The first practice of cotillion is after class." Ashton reminds us before drinking his soda.
Calum nods. "I know."
