Unexpected || Luke Hemmings

Chapter 33

"No, Luke." I quickly cover my lips with the back of my hand, just like what I did in our first kiss, as I step backward.

He scoffs as he removes my hand from my lips while his other arm wraps around my waist, pulling me back to him then his lips meet mine. I'm star struck for a moment until everything that's happening sink in into me. My hand slowly creeps up on his chest until it reaches his neck. I have to tiptoe because he's so tall. When he realizes I'm standing on my toes, he wraps both of his arms around my waist for support. I also wrap my other free arm around his waist trying to pull him closer as possible. It feels like my first kiss.

It lasts for a few more seconds until we slowly pull away from each other, but our faces are still inches apart. He rests his forehead on mine as I open my eyes. I can't stop myself from grinning while Luke chuckles. I know I gave up easily on him before but right now, I'm determined that I'm willing to fight for him. Even if it means that I have to fight his mother so I can be with him.

"What is this?"

As we turn around, Calum and Sam are standing in front of us with their laser gun pointing at us. Seconds later, Michael joins them also with his laser gun pointing at Calum. He shoots Calum a few times before he realizes what's going on. Sam shoots Michael back by the way.

"Um." I drag the word as I shrug my shoulders, smiling. "We are back together."

"Oh, my god," Michael says. "Don't tell me you guys just had sex here."

"You're an idiot." Luke chuckles.

"What the fuck." Michael swears as he turns around to find Ashton shooting him. "Stop shooting me! We're in the same team for fuck's sake!"

"Whoa, what is going on? Is the game over?" Ashton asks as he joins us then his eyes land on Luke and I, holding hands. He looks confused for a second then he smirks. "Whoa there."

"But how about Selena?" Sam asks.

I look up at Luke, waiting for him to answer this one. He looks down at me and smiles.

"I'll handle it," He answers, giving my hand a squeeze. "Just let me talk to her."

"Where is my girlfriend anyway?" Ashton asks as he looks around.

After the laser tag, we still didn't tell Selena about what have just happened. We left the place with her still clinging to Luke while I went off with Michael. Since it's already late but none of us wants to go home yet, we decided to hang in a pub for awhile. Calum actually requested Nando's, but then he forgot that it's already close at this time.

"I'm happy for you, guys," Michael says as he drives off. "I mean, damn, I don't know why it took you guys this long to realize that you guys are meant to be."

I chuckle as I playfully roll my eyes at him. "Thank you, though. For being there for me."

He glances at me for a second with a smile on his face. "That's what friends do, right?"

Later on, we arrive at the pub. Ashton immediately orders eight beers. We sit on a booth that fit eight people. The air is awkward at first because obviously, everyone expects Selena already knows what happened, but here's Selena who have her hands all over Luke. My inner instinct wants to tear her in pieces because she's touching my man, but it's better if I let Luke handle this.

"So." Sam says cheerfully. "That was fun."

"Yeah." Calum nods. "You should have seen me shooting Ashton, baby."

"Oh shut up, you're fucking cheating." Ashton says, rolling his eyes and that's all it takes for the awkwardness to vanished away completely. The beers are served after that. I don't know why but I suddenly feel the thirst for a beer. Maybe because it's been awhile since I had one so I grab my bottle and drink.
