Su Jin took a shaky breath as she straightened out her clothes. It was the day she had to meet her new boss and she felt like she could throw up. Her palms were sweating as the elevator dinged, signaling she had reached her destination. She made her way through the cubicles, finding the door that read ‘Chief Investment Officer’ on the shiny new plate. She gripped the handle, taking another moment to steady her breathing before she pushed down and through the door.

The office that once belonged to her old boss had been drastically changed since the last time she was inside. The walls were painted a cool grey and posh new furniture replaced the old tattered and uncomfortable seats. A huge wooden desk was meticulously organized, with a young man sitting at the chair in front of it. He looked up from his computer, eyes meeting Su Jins.

“Can I help you?”

“O-oh! Right, sorry. I’m Su Jin. I was informed I’d be taking over the Senior management position for this department for the time being. It’s nice to meet you.” She stuck out her hand and the man before her smirked, taking her hand and shaking it. She gulped at his expression. He’s really… attractive. The man had short black hair, dark eyes and smelled faintly of cigarette smoke. His smirk gave her goosebumps up and down her arms.

“Choi Seung Hyun. I’m your new CIO. Please take a seat.” He motioned for her to sit in front of him. She moved to the black leather chair, slowly lowering herself onto the seat. He typed a few more things on his computer before turning his attention back to her. “Well Su Jin, I know this is a new position for you but don’t be nervous. I’m sure you’ll be fine. I’ll help you figure out your rhythm and then after that if you ever have problems or questions, don’t be afraid to ask.”

Su Jin nodded and smiled back at him. “Okay, thank you Mr. Choi.”

His face contorted and he shook his head, holding his hand up for her to stop. “Not Mr. Choi. I’m not an old man yet. Please just call me Seung Hyun. We’ll be working closely together, we should feel comfortable with each other.”

“Oh, well thank you… Seung Hyun.” She felt her cheeks start to heat up and she frantically tried to force herself to think of something that wouldn’t make her blush. This is so inappropriate. I am a happily married woman, how can I blush at another man!?

He seemed to not notice her flustered state and went straight into business mode. He started going through her new role in the office and new responsibilities. It seemed like her workload had doubled overnight. He moved quickly but efficiently, never missing a beat unless he was asking if she understood what he meant. Although she was feeling excited by her new role in the company and the challenge of a better position, she couldn’t help but feel nervous she would be working so closely with Seung Hyun. Something about him made her feel like trouble was around the corner and waiting for her.

After a couple hours, he dismissed her so she could go set up her new work station and get comfortable. All of her things from her old desk had been boxed and moved to her new office. I actually get an office instead of a cubicle! I can’t for Hoseok to see it. She was pulling things out of boxes and placing them where she wanted them when she overheard a couple girls chatting as they walked by.

“I heard we have a chief creative officer now. We’ve never needed one before. Apparently he is looking for a personal assistant. Does he think he’s that special? Our CIO doesn’t even a personal assistant.” One girl sneered.

“Oh stop it. I saw him earlier and believe me, he’s doing someone a huge favor by allowing them to be his assistant.”

Hmm? Personal assistant? I wonder if Hyo Rin would be interested… Nah. She’d hate working in the creative department. Oh but maybe Yun Hee… since the bakery is about to close down. She pondered for a minute before pulling out her phone and typing a quick message.
