Hyun Ki sat across the table from his parents. They had a small box placed in front of him and somber looks on their faces. They had told him when he got home that they needed to talk to him about something important, but their weird attitude was making him nervous. His mom motioned for him to open up the box. He pulled out some pictures, immediately recognizing the group of children being his friends. Except there were two unfamiliar children with them.
"You see the two kids on the far left? Do you recognize them?" Hoseok asked, trying to be as delicate as he could with the odd situation.
"No? Am I supposed to?" Hyun Ki squinted down at the photograph. It felt familiar but he just couldn't place the other two.
"That's Yoo Na and Min Ki. The same Yoo Na you brought to our home." Su Jin started, pausing to give Hyun Ki a moment for the information to sink in. Once he shot his head up, confusion clear on his face, she continued. "The reason Taehyung fainted when he met her is because Yoo Na is actually his daughter. He was... well still technically is married to Yun Hee, Yoo Na's mother. Min Ki is Jimins son, Jimin and Yun Hee were friends of ours. Yun Hee was one of my best friends."
"Wait... what?" Hyun Ki wrinkled his nose as he thought about how wild it seemed. The girl he happened to fall for used to be his friend when they were children? Her mom friends with his? Yoo Na's mom had never once made it seem like she knew him or his family. It seemed a little surreal.
Hoseok went on to carefully explain how Yun Hee and Taehyung ended up splitting and Yun Hee ran off with Yoo Na and Ji Yong to Japan. He told him about Jimin and Min Ki's mysterious moving away and how they hadn't heard from any of them since. Hyun Ki sat silently listening to his parents speak, taking in all the information they were throwing at him and trying to decipher it. It seemed way too crazy to be true but their tones told him it was definitely not a joke. Hoseok was extremely uncomfortable as he explained Taehyung and his reaction to Yun Hee leaving after he made some bad choices. Hyun Ki had never known Taehyung to be mentally unstable or to try and hurt himself. He always seemed a little depressed now and then but never to such an extent.
"So what does all this mean?" Hyun Ki asked.
Su Jin cleared her throat, nodding her head at Hoseok before speaking. "I need to talk to Yun Hee. Taehyung already knows she is back because of his meeting Yoo Na. He is going to try everything he can to track her down and I want to know her situation and be prepared for whatever happens before Taehyung meets her. I don't want another surprise like what happened with Yoo Na."
Hyun Ki visibly stiffened at his mother's words. He groaned and moved a hand up to cover his face. "There's something you should know then... You're probably going to be mad."
"What is it?"
"Yoo Na's mom had another baby. She has a little boy. All I know is the man isn't Ji Yong. I didn't recognize him. Plus he just picked the kid up and left quickly once he saw me. Ji Yong came out of his room later to join us for dinner."
Su Jins brows knit together as she reached over into the box. Digging around, she pulled a photograph out and handed it to Hyun Ki. "Did the man look like this?"
Hyun Ki's brows shot up and he nodded. "Yeah! That's him! Who is he?"
Hoseok mouth fell open and he reached for his wife's hand. He gave her a squeeze, trying to remind her to remain calm. Su Jin just glared towards the photo on the table. "Park freaking Jimin. That troublemaker just couldn't keep away! He had to go and make things worse per usual!!"
"Jimin? As in Min Ki's DAD!? Wait WHAT!?" Hyun Ki scoffed in disbelief, glancing back down at the photo of Jimin to yet again confirm it was the man he saw. "Is this some hidden camera show or something? Is someone going to pop out and yell surprise? Because this is really messed up."
