A cat is forced into becoming a medicine cat and not willingly.
* Going off the last one, it just isn't very fun to see, especially when it comes to disabled characters. It just implies that medicine cats are "lesser" roles for cats "not good enough" to become warriors. If you're too soft, too anxious, too disabled, too unathletic, you're a medicine cat. It just feels very gross. There's no point in actually helping cats to become warriors, i.e. efforts to assuage their anxiety or let them work around/with their disability, nope, just boot them to a ""lesser"" and ""less-demanding"" role.
And not to get on my soapbox, but cats that are "too soft" also being recommended for being medicine cats is also weird. Cats almost seem punished for caring about others too much. It's not like medicine cats don't see their fair share of battle or death or wounds.
Just please give medicine cats some of their authority and agency back. I don't know if I've ever seen more than one medicine cat apprentice at a time.
