Every leader is either very wise, a Mary Sue/Gary Stu or cruel and the worst leader.
* I just wanted to add, leaders are treated with a sort of reverence. They're the holy leader above us all, we can't go against them. That feels weird to me, since so much of the Clan has probably grown up with them. They were once someone's kit, apprentice, sibling, parent, friend, mate, etc. They aren't suddenly untouchable when they become leader. The feels like the root problem of this cliché, seeing the character as the Leader instead of a former-warrior. Formulating a character around the position of leader/president can limit characterization, so see them as warriors that just happened to make it to leadership.
