We arrive back at home at around 11 after a very happy morning indeed. Naya is sitting in the lounge playing on her guitar whilst the rest of our friends are sitting around chatting.
"Oh hey, would you like me to make you a coffee?" Adley asks jumping up from her position on the couch to give me a hug.
"Yeah that would be splendid. Boo do you want a coffee?" I tap Darius' arm to get his attention. He's so absorbed in Naya's beautiful music. He looks at me for a millisecond and nods before turning back to watch Naya.
"How's the song coming along?" he asks her when she stops playing for a moment. She writes her own songs and is hoping to get signed by a big company. She has given them a few demos, so hopefully we find out if they like her music in a few days. The song she is writing at the moment is for her adopted sister-Amelia's wedding.
"Only have one verse left," Naya grins, she loves how interested Darius gets in her music. I think it's because his brother Bryn used to play the guitar before he died.
"How was your morning?" I ask Adley and slide onto a seat at the breakfast bar.
"Carlo made us bacon and eggs for breakfast- the perfect hangover cure. Then he and Fleur left for work. They said they would be home around 5 so we could have a movie night. The rest of us watched cartoons for a little bit then infomercials started so we turned it off and helped Naya with her song," Adley says while she froths the milk.
"Hey Try! Aren't you meant to look after Cooper on Thursdays?" I ask my cousin who is sitting at the dining table typing away on his laptop. Cooper is his little baby brother, my favourite cousin.
"Yeah but Daisy is on study break and doesn't have an exam for a few days so she offered to look after him. I have to sort some stuff for the business so it worked to just stay here today," Trystan stops his typing for a moment. I don't really understand what his family business does. All I know is that it's pretty huge and they're rather wealthy. I think it's real estate for mansions. Daisy has just turned sixteen she goes to Walton Academy just like I did. Except she's in the A class. She's super intelligent and a little nerdy, she's so gorgeous.
"Lucky we let you use our WiFi," I laugh.
"Well it would rude if you didn't especially you because we're family."
"Here you go beautiful," Adley hands me my cup.
"Thank you lovely," we both wander back into the lounge. Zaidan is lying on the couch singing with Naya.
"Guys you should seriously consider starting a band," Adley hands Darius his coffee. I can see Zaidan shake his head. He's the type of person who refuses to admit he's good at singing even though he is in a band. He sticks to his drumming and that's it. We all wish he would be more confident in his singing.
"Naya is a beautiful singer, I'd probably ruin the tranquility of her music," Zaidan shrugs after Adley gives him a scolding look.
"You stubborn human being," Adley grumbles picking up his legs so that she can sit down. I'm about to ask Zaidan why he isn't at work today, but I remember today is his day off.
"It's a few weeks till Amelia's wedding now," I declare suddenly realising how long it's been since her fiance got down on one knee.
"Yeah it's crazy. But she's such an organised person. All of the things some brides would be freaking out about, she has all figured out. Like the cake, the dress, the bridesmaids, the venue, the dances, all of it," Naya says all the talk about weddings causes Darius to sit up straighter.
"My brother gets married next weekend. Everything has been organised for a while probably because Ava has been a really onto it maid of honor," Darius says, I can't help but feel kind of proud of my sister. Ava is a real trooper, in between being a mum, a wife and a photographer for a very popular fashion magazine. She has managed to organise what I believe is a wedding of the century.
