"Babe I am going to need you to close your eyes," Darius tells me as he walks back in the door from running a quick grocery errand.
"What's with all these surprises?" I ask taking a seat on the couch.
"I don't need a reason to treat my gorgeous girlfriend. I just wanna," I can hear the pride in his voice and then I hear a small yelp.
I think I know what it is. My heart is flooding with joy, "did you get me a puppy?" I nearly squeal.
"Maybe..."
Then a small little wriggly thing is placed on my lap. I open my eyes to see the most adorable little creature ever. It's a little white haired tea cup Maltese, my favourite kind of dog by the way. She rubs her little nose into tummy and pure joy bubbles up inside of me. I have no words to describe how happy I am to have my very own little cuddly puppy.
"Does she have a name?" I look up at Darius with a beaming smile.
"No, she doesn't. You can name her," He grins, just enjoying seeing me so happy.
"Then I will name her Lula," I giggle letting her lick my cheek, "oh and she can be friends with Jasper! Baby, thank you so so so very much. I love her already. I think I might have to kick you out of my bed. Lula will have to take your place," I laugh as I look into the eyes of my new favourite being.
"Babe that's not nice, I bought her for you. I also bought her a cute little bed. She can be your baby. You should tell Ryder and Ava that you have a baby on the way as we drive to her house and she won't understand. It'll be hilarious. I know you've been waiting till you graduate to get a puppy and this is my gift to you for putting up with me for two and a half years. She's an addition not a replacement. We are making our own little family, my baby girl," Darius comes and sits next to me wrapping his arm around my shoulder and pulling me closer to him.
I watch as Lula sits where both mine and Darius' legs touch. It is as though she knows what Darius is trying to say. It's lovely to know that we are making progress to be a cute little family and soon Alexander will have cousins. Well not too soon. I kind of want to have a few years of us after we get married and we get our own house in the same street as Ava. Darius leans in to kiss my cheek and I turn at the right moment causing the kiss to land on my lips. I feel him smile against my lips before he gently nibbles on my bottom lip. The moment is ruined by Lula trying to join in on the action.
"Aw my girl do you want kisses too? Do you want some smooches baby?" I coo in a voice I have never used before. Out of the corner of my eye I can see Darius pull out his phone to video me, "don't do it Darius, otherwise I will have to kick you out of my bed," I threaten.
"It was just really funny and I know Ryder will laugh," he smirks.
"Why do you two always make fun of me?" I shake my head letting Lula go explore the apartment, "wait she is toilet trained right?" I look at Darius with wide eyes.
"Yes she is. I brought her into the apartment whilst in my lunch break on Monday and she's been to yours as well while you were on your run with Adley that night," Darius says casually.
"Are you saying that my friends actually kept a secret from me? Usually they're terrible at it," I raise my eyebrows at him.
"I bribed them with chocolate," Darius shrugs chocolate.
"Chocolate? They kept a secret for chocolate. That is crazy. I am very glad they did but they must really like chocolate," I laugh snuggling my head into the crook of his neck.
"Well Naya was the only one of the girls there so it wasn't like I had to convince Fleur- she would have totally told you because she'd have been far too excited. So it was really just bribing Zaidan and Trystan. Trystan would've told his parents and then they would have told your mum who would innocently tell you," Darius explains, drawing invisible pictures on my leg with his fingertips.
