"Woah you shopped it large didn't you," Zaidan declares as soon as we walk in the front door.
"More like Fleur shopped it large," I laugh, placing my bags on the dining table.
"Are you going to give us a fashion show?" Carlo pipes up from the couch.
"Fleur can," I sit down at the breakfast bar and silently look around the room to see who is here.
When we left this morning Naya was asleep and no one else was here. But now it seems like everyone is here. Zaidan and Adley are sitting on the recliner chair. Carlo is lying on the couch with his legs over Naya and Trystan's laps and I can hear Darius singing in the shower.
"So while you were out, we decided we'd have a girls night in and the boys will go do something and stay at Zaidan's flat," Naya informs me while Fleur politely declines Carlo's catwalk suggestion.
"Ooh sounds fun," I sing, incorporating jazz hands into my excited dance.
"Golly Darius loves a good Elvis Presley song doesn't he?" Adley interrupts the conversation. The room falls silent and we all listen to Darius' wonderful singing.
"You ain't nothing but a hound dog. Barking all the time!"
He's a little far off from being in Zaidan's band. That's for sure. I internally cringe as everyone cracks up laughing.
"Imagine how he's dancing," Trystan chuckles.
"Oh no, please no," Naya squeezes her eyes closed and covers her ears with her hands.
"And Emme has been dating that ball of craziness for two years," Carlo titters, "you're a champ," he pats my shoulder.
"I'm going to go check on him," I shake my head with a smile. Good ol' friendly banter.
I sneak into my bathroom and Darius is still singing at the top of his lungs. The glass is fogged up but I can see him dancing just the way I thought he would be. His hips are swaying and rocking just like Elvis would have danced himself.
"Babe," I open up the shower door.
"Ahh," he yells and holds up the back scrubber as a weapon. When he sees it's me he drops the scrubber with a smile, "hi," he gives me a big toothy grin.
"They're all laughing at your singing," I inform him.
"I'm glad I can bring our friends such joy," he laughs as he turns the water off.
"You're a nutter, nutter, peanut butter," I giggle and sit down on the closed toilet seat.
"How was your shopping trip?" He asks me as dries himself thoroughly.
"Long," I sigh.
"Oh baby," he leans down to kiss my head, "but did you get some cool clothes?"
"Yeah I'm happy with what I bought," I pass him his T-shirt.
"Did someone tell you the plan for tonight?" He pulls his pants up and opens the door.
"Naya told me, but we didn't really discuss it further because then everyone started laughing at your singing," I sit at the edge of my bed and pull him between my legs.
"Oh well should I help you pack? You and Fleur are the only ones left to put your bags into the car. It just means we can sleep until sevenish and get coffee on the way," his hands run over my shoulders and arms as he talks.
