"Oh I love a good bush walk," I sing as we walk up a grassy path to the start of our walk.
"You won't be saying that in two hours," Trystan laughs.
"You just need to stay hydrated my friends," Zaidan says like some sort of travel guide.
"Bush walks are rewarding in that you are exercising and it is scenic, it gives you time to think. Because it is just you and nature. But your muscles don't thank you when you lay down in bed at night," Carlo takes a sip of water as we enter further into the bush.
"I like that we are doing something different today. Like I'm loving this holiday it has been amazing but everyday seems the same: eat, drive, swim, eat, drive, swim, eat, sleep and repeat. It's nice that we don't have to drive anywhere or decide where we want to eat. It's something different and it is exciting me," Darius smiles and reaches behind him to grab my hand.
"I can second that," Adley agrees while falling in step with me and Darius.
"It's just so darn hot," Trystan complains.
"Where's the positivity Mr?" Fleur flicks a piece of bark at his foot.
"Last time me and Zaidan did this walk I swear I nearly died," he grumbles.
"Don't be dramatic. We used to do this walk as little kids. Don't ruin the moment just because you were unfit once," Fleur sasses.
"Our parents wouldn't have taken us on walks like this if they made us cry in pain. The walk is beautiful and has a really amazing view from the top guys. Just ignore the drama queen," Zaidan laughs.
"I have done this walk countless times and not once have I regretted it. Yeah your legs ache a little. But the point is about appreciating nature and the world around us," Adley comments.
"Isn't this where you guys lost your virginity to each other?" I ask Adley quietly. She nods with a giggle, "that would've been a heck of a work out."
"I love the sound of the birds. When you really concentrate on listening they sound so loud. But when you don't they just seem like background noise," Naya changes the subject from picking on her boyfriend. She points above us at a bird that is swooping from tree to tree.
"The trees are blocking the sun so it isn't even that hot in here," I tell my cousin.
"Okay I get the point," Trystan shakes his head.
"This road trip is the best way to spend summer thank you for coming up with idea baby. It has been amazing and it is only day six," Darius marvels.
"It's just so cool spending time with the people I care about and I love adventuring with you guys," I raise the back of Darius's hand to my lips.
"This is going to be a summer we'll never forget," Adley takes hold of my other hand.
"Really we're like the birds flying around in the trees. We're free to spread our wings," Fleur flaps her arms majestically.
"Aw Fleur I love you," I declare.
"And I love YOU," Darius leans down to whisper in my ear, peppering my cheek with kisses. I feel bad for Adley because she's attached to me. She truly third wheeling. I'm not sure she'll like it.
"I think I love her more," Adley leans across me poke her tongue out at Darius. She kisses my other cheek and I can't help but laugh.
"Is it weird that I found that sorta hot?" Zaidan laughs.
"Yes," I roll my eyes.
"Did you know that they actually kissed once?" Darius reveals. I turn to glare at him and Adley reaches across me once again to punch his chest.
