THE SINGHANIA SCANDAL

NIKHIL INFORMS

  Jiya woke up fresh in the afternoon made herself a cup of tea and went on with the household chores. Since her maid did not know of her arrival she even cleaned the house. Then she made a sandwich with lemonade for her lunch.

She had just finished eating when the door bell rang. She found Nikhil at the door.

"Nikhil want a glass of lemonade?"

"Ya sure"

" Nikhil you seemed to be worried on the phone?"

"Jiya don't you really know anything?"

"Don't talk in riddles. Just speak up"

"Did you read the newspaper today?"

"No I didn't because I was too busy with my household chores."

Infact shehad not even picked the newspaper from her doorstep.

Nikhil went outside and showed her the front page which read "Singhania Corporation Lose Major Contract To S N Constructions"

Still she couldn't understand why Nikhil was pointing that news to him

" I am still not able to understand "

Nikhil trusted her and her expressions of ignorance further proved that she had nothing to do with the issue.

"Jiya where does you sister Myra work ?"

"She works in SN Advertising but has no link with the construction division."

Nikhil was carrying two newspapers with him."Jiya look at these"

"Playboy Sagar Singhania making out with a mystery girl while brother loses major contract" along with this news was a photograph of Sagar and Jiya lying together on the terrace of the Dehradun mansion.
Jiya felt so embarrassed because everyone must have seen the newspaper.


"The mystery girl his new secretary or new mistresses", another article read.

"Mystery girl's sister works with rival company. Did she leak the information?,"was another damning article.


Another newspaper claimed her the culprit " Sagar Singhania mistress collaborates with rivals and leaks confidential information?"

The article was giving full details of Sagar previous exploits giving a complete list of his exgirlfriends, illicit lovers and previous mistresses. It also mentioned how he was an irresponsible playboy who had never bothered to work.His life had sole aim of bedding women and spending money. He was a burden for The Singhania corporation.

Nikhil turned on her television and there also speculations about Jiya's role in the
entire mess

Jiya started crying Nikhil "They have made me the culprit without evening checking their facts. My reputation is ruined . What will I do?

"My parents will be so dissapointed. Jaisalmer is a small place and this news will ruin them."

"Nikhil I have not done anything. I don't know anything about the contract."

"Jiya just tell me did anything happen between you two? Did that rascal seduce you?"

"No nothing happened "

Nikhil was so relieved

"Look jiya don't worry.We will do something.I am there for you."

He hugged Jiya .She was crying so loudly that he gently rocked her in his arms.

It was at this time Sagar entered and saw then together.

Sagar had a terrible board meeting .The members accused him of negligence .They told him that because he could not control his libido Jiya had taken advantage and leaked the information .

When they accused him he accepted but when they stated that Jiya was the traitor he asked them to shut up.

This further worked against him.

Ritwik had tried to control them but they has asked him to be removed from the board of directors otherwise they eould withdraw their financial supports forom other projects also.

Singhania corporation had already invested heavily and they could not take this blow so he had resigned his post and left the board meeting to
go to Jiya's place where he saw Jiya and Nikhil hugging each other and in each others arms

This was another blow for him.
