  Cynthia had become boring for him His interest was now on an innocent beauty in his office so instead of going home after dinner he dropped a reluctant Cynthia at her home.

Since the office party was in two days he decided to invite Jiya as his date .

When Jiya came with his cup of coffee he asked her.," Jiya there is a party in our office on Saturday to celebrate our new partnership with Nikhil. Will you accompany me to the party?"

"I am sorry Sagar but Nikhil had askedme last week that he would take me to a business dinner andIi accepted I didn't know that he was speaking of our office party."

"Oh well not a problem I am sure Cynthia will be happy to come along. You continue with your work."

He banged the table when she left the room

Why eas Nikhil always a step ahead of him?

For two days they worked in silence not speaking much.

Once or twice Sagar caught her talking and laughing with Nikhil over the room phone.

On Saturday Jiya had left office around 4 pm. A day before the party she had gone shopping with Myra who had insisted on buying a red ball gown for her.Jiya was not very much into western clothes or bold colours but Myra was the opposite.

When she returned home Myra was waiting fo her . She had arranged a beautician to help Jiya get ready for her first office party

The gown they had purchased was offshoulder but full a longslit at the back. The beautician had given red streaks in her hair. She had applied light makeup but her lipstick was bold red. Jiya's hair was straightened and Myra had given her long earings because they suited her. She was wearing four inch heals which added to her height. When she looked at herself in the mirror she felt beautiful .

Nikhil arrived on time to pick her He whistled loud ,"My my I must be the luckiest man on the earth to be escorting such a beautiful woman. I am sure that all men will envy me while the women will burn with jealousy ."

" Nikhil stop embrassing her. You yourself are looking so handsome that if not for Jiya I would have loved to accompany such a handsome man," Myra teased him.

Myra actually liked Nikhl because she trusted Jiya with him. He was a nice fellow and he looked after Jiya well. she had seen how he looked at jiya but she wanted Jiya to fall for someone like him.

" Hey you two .Will you stop flirting ?"

"Why are you stopping us from flirting? Arey are you jealous Jiya beacuae I am flirting with your beautifiul sister and not you?"

"No. Nikhil"

"Ok then let's go we are getting late"

The party had started an hour ago but Nikhil and Jiya had not arrived.

Sagar was waiting for them. As soon as she entered with Nikhil all eyes were on her. The men were openly admiring her beauty while the women were curios to know her identity especially since she was with one of the most eligible bachelors of Gurgaon.

"Hi Nikhil. I thought you two were just friends? Since when did you start dating?"

"Sagar I told you we are friends and nothing else. How are you Mr Makhija? Excuse me sir I need to meet a few clients."

When Jiya was out of sight Nikhil warned Sagar,"Sagar I like her and I plan on dating her. But I would not like you meddling in my affairs"

"Listen Nikhil. I found her first so she is mine first."

"Sagar she is not a possession but a lady."

"Still she is going to be mine first. You wait and watch"
