The man turned around all the way reveling a guy in his late thirties, and he wasn't my dad. I froze stiff, any stiffer and I could have broken into pieces like a twig, I was completely speechless. I had no words to say, all I was thinking was that Max was right. This is a trap... Quicker than the speed of light I pulled out my gun from behind my back and pointed it exactly at the man.

"Who the fuck are you? Kevin, what in the fucking world is this?" I was now totally pissed off, not knowing where my dad was or why they made me travel so long to see this idiot boiled my blood.

"Ava calm down." The man said calmly crossing his arms; I began to point the gun to his head.

"I'm not here to play any games, where's my dad. And who are you? Kevin, was this a set up?!" I couldn't stop from asking too much questions.

"No this isn't a game or trick. Mr. Cartel should be here in less than 5 minutes. And to answer your question I'm Shawn his friend." He said putting a hand out, not trying to let my guard down I smacked his hand away with my gun and pointed it back at his face.

"If you say my dad will be here less than 5 minutes lets wait it out, nobody move or Ill shoot." I said trying to keep it all under control.

"Come on." Kevin said taking a step, without hesitation I shot close enough to his foot that got him scared.

"I said don't move, that was just a warning shot." I said pointing back my gun to Shawn's face, my heart slowly sunk as I remembered I didn't put enough bullets in my gun leaving me with one as I shot my second one. I began to think of a strategy, how in the world was I going to get out of this one?

One of the longest minutes passed and holding the gun for this long up was not helping. I couldn't believe I fell for this pathetic stunt, now I have not only endangered myself but my best friend. Max was right all this time and I'm so stupid for not trusting him.

After a while I got tired of standing so I made everyone take a seat at a small table. I was sitting in front of Shawn, Kevin to my left and Max to my right.

"You really believe your dads going to walk in that door in less than 3 minutes? Just shoot them and lets leave." Max said getting inpatient. He's probably right, but I wanted to be a hundred percent sure I wasn't over reacting.

"Lets just wait and if he doesn't pop out, well ditch these ass holes." I said leaning back in my chair.

"You really don't believe us huh? Come on Ava, Kevin is your friend. And I'm your dads friend, why would we make this whole thing up?" Shawn said folding his arms in front of me.

"Because, I don't even know you. And I haven't seen Kevin in a while, what if he had changed?" I said bitterly, then regretting it as sadness washed up on Kevin's face. I glanced at him as he dropped his head down, not knowing Shawn taking this silent opportunity.

"Well then Ms. Cartel, look how the table has turned." Shawn said with a gun in his hand pointing exactly between my eyebrows. "Why don't you look so pretty with that scared face." He said in a momma talking to a baby voice. Disgusting, I'm not a child. I could bring down five guys at once, snapping each one of their little fragile bones like a killer. This isn't even close to what I am capable of; helping my dad all these years with his business molded me into a fighter. And I'm not going to go down now.

I looked him dead in the eyes. For less then a second I quickly threw my hands up feeling the gun in my palms. Before snatching the silver pistol from his hands I ducked my head down grasping the heavy gun and pulling it towards me. As I moved back to regain my balance and point the gun to Shawn, my heart stopped as I saw him with my gun.

All of a sudden a gunshot was heard, my heart stopped and I was looking at everyone, then straight at Max. Was I shot?
